UT-UF at noon

12:00 games suck for fans and players. It's too early--but it is the reality of sports TV in America because of the desire to get two games on a network in one afternoon, hence noon and 4.

I hope they get their wish and play all quarterbacks on the roster after our Defense lays wood in their backfield all day.

hard to get motivated for a 11:00 kick off....keep doing that crap and we will keep having empty seats.....too easy to stay home and give my tickets to some kids

the "Streak" must end.. no matter the time or place.. it is what it is, they have to get up too.

Go Vols!!:clapping:

Florida having some of the most obnoxious fans in football is reason enough to show them how loud Neyland Stadium can be. Loud but with class, never get down to their level.

Not sure how you'd describe the UF game in 2012 as tame. It was LOUD...even compared to late 90's.

Yea, but that was a night game. It's cooler at night and the fans are good and liquored up. This leads to a hostile environment. Shame ESPN took away our home field advantage

Was that a noon game? Back in the day, Neyland was hostile, even during the early shift. As for the '12 Florida game, it was decently loud..... But that's not what we' re talking about though..... Unless I missed something which is very possible

The UGA game last year was at 3:30 not noon. But you are correct the USCjr game was at Noon. (and we won!).

There is no doubt though that given the students will trickle in during the first half rather than show up at the start, the stadium will be quieter in the first quarter than it would have been if the kick off was at 7:00.

Yep, takes a while to sleep off and recover from those friday night hangovers. Then it's time to work toward the sunday morning hangover. :)

Solution: Those of you who think Neyland doesn't meet your parameters (too quiet, not full, wrong shade of orange, etc.) simply buy tickets, come to the games and be a catalyst for making Neyland what you want it to be.

But "box of kittens"-- not even in the rock bottom Dooley days.

We're playing Florida later this year, it should be fantastic weather.

We had 99,000+ vs Arky St. for our last noon home game. I'm guessing we put 102,455 in Neyland for Florida, especially if we have a good showing at Georgia.

You really think it'll be like that?

Before the season, someone mentioning the wheels falling off of Florida at this point in the season.

I mentioned that I thought that was impossible, because Florida would be 3-1 and everyone would expect a loss at Alabama.

However, the wheels are falling off. There's a qb controversy on top of unrest because for the past two weeks Florida has embarrassed themselves for different reasons.

The bye week and the fact that this is a road game are good things right now.

I'm old. I like the noon games.

Me, too, buddy (about being old). But I hate noon games.

Funny...uniform style, certain traditions, game-time music---these opinions can GENERALLY be divided along AGE levels; yeah or nay on early vs. later games don't seem to neatly fall into the youth in favor of one and the aged the other.

The variables that seem to impact which side a person is on includes (other than age): how far is your trip to Neyland, can work obligations interfere, is drinking an integral part of game day preparation, etc. All of these are practical considerations and your opinion of an earlier game vs. a later one is definitely a personal one.

Next year will be my 30th season in Neyland Stadium (that doesn't make me a football atmospheric expert, I know)...but I can say with 100% certainty that the later the start of the game, the more intimidating the crowd. Period.

If people can't avoid drinking on Friday night to support the Vols in one of their biggest games of the year, that's really disappointing and likely a sign of burgeoning alcoholism.

i don't get in from friday night partying till 3-4 am---i'll just stay up and head over to the tailgate about 7-8 to down some bloody marys before moving to the real stuff
