UT under potential NCAA investigation for NIL

Got any specifics on how UGA and Bama are using shady NIL practices because from everything I've read, Bama and UGA have 2 of the most conservative NIL programs.

Don’t know about Bama, but UGA has always had a massive and aggressive NIL program that is at the top. How do the members of the football team all drive cars worth 80K and up, and those 85 players are in the top 3% of wage earners in GA.

NIL was corrupted the schools and the programs and has become total bull$hit---a bribery contest for prospects. And this is what college
sports should be about--turning high-schoolers into money-grubbing mercenaries? It's been disgusting to watch---corrupt. NIL was not conceived as a cash bag for recruiting. It was concieved as a method to give student-athletes already in school a cut for monies earned by private businesses or the school for using their NIL for promotional or sales/merch purposes. It got corrupted and turned into a a recruiting bribe.

NIL should be completely banned from recruiting. Or, if the athletic departments and conferences are ok with all this paying players nonsense, and professionalizing college football and basketball, then break athletics off from universities completely and make what used to be college football a new privately owned league, private clubs, professional players---and no association with colleges. That way academia won't be obligated to offer this respectable cover for athletics that have little to do with college and learning anymore. The fans will be OK with that--because college football fans have never even been to college, which is why the academic side doesn't resonate with them.

Seems as if there’s no paper trail to UT for the flight, things would be a bit speculative. I guess that’s the point of the investigation and this jackass just decided to run with it because his employer is folding up shop 🤷‍♂️
And/or because the NCAA wants to do as much "damage" as possible on the way out.

“Under POTENTIAL investigation…??? What the heck is that, you either are or you aren’t… there is no “potential” to it…,

I would be all for NCAA and their rules if they were fairly and evenly enforced. They have not been in the past and it is certain that they have favorites. The NCAA's goal was to keep fairness and PARITY in sports. They didn't.

We all saw 2010-2020 **** with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio State just murdering everyone. It wasn't good for the sport.

I get the vitriol at Forde, but he didn't make this up. The fact that we have the letter from Donde Plowman out means there is an investigation or allegation against UT. Forde is an ass, but he's not just inventing this...... or Donde is playing along with him, which I highly doubt.

As for paper trails, folks don't fly around in corporate or school airplanes without paper trails because the expenses are handled by bean counters and private airplane rides ain't cheap. If it's about an airplane trip, somebody had to sign off on it somewhere.

I thought with the new rules where everything goes, money flying in all directions, what is the problem? Did we not pay a payer enough ?
It's the Alabama pumps crying about the NIL now that nicky has retired so ncaa going to try to help them out. Like in the movie A Few Good Men. Nicholson told them. You messed with the wrong Marine this time.

Airports record inbound and outbound flights as well.

Still, an airplane ride. Come on... this is the stupid stuff that sunk the NCAA. Hugh Freeze giving $ 300 to a struggling athlete, etc. Their rules are ridiculous. Go after schools for actual gifts and money giving to players.

The paper trail I’m referring to is one tying Nico to a UT recruiting visit, as opposed to a visit to meet with Spyre officials, which I believe is in Knoxville. Anybody can track an airplane. All the coaching searches around here are proof of that
