UT/VA Tech @ Bristol?

Anyone think they would bring some form of bleachers into the infield to surround the field?

UT plays a home and home with Oklahoma next year and in 2015. I thought we also had Nebraska scheduled for a home and home in 2016/2017. So we are also going to play Va tech in 2016? I'm actually for it, two good out of conference games would be nice.

Butch knows what he's doing here. The new College Football Playoff format looks very kindly upon teams with a high SOS.

For the record, for those who haven't been there, this is the inside of Bristol Motor Speedway. I'm as excited as anybody right now (from Johnson City so this is close), but I'm not sure where they're going to put the field...

Looks like the tower is right in the middle where the field would go.

I wonder if they can temporarily dismantle it?

They will construct the field the same place as the dirt track races they have there along with monster trucks and dirt track events.

I called my dad and he said, "We're going regardless of the price".....Start off the season with a win vs. Tech and end it with a National Championship.

My guess is that Bruton Smith (Bristol track owner) would plan an upgrade to the Bristol facilities to concur with the timing of the game. I would imagine the tower to be dismantled and a new form of displaying running order put in place around the stadium. I would also imagine that Bristol will be in line for a HD jumbotron such as Charlotte motor speedway has.

This is huge! What recruit wouldn't want to play in a game in front of the largest crown ever to see a football game? Huge boon to recruiting IMO.

This can't happen. The offer was made before they (Bristol Motor Speedway) put in the score board. It would cost way to much to remove it and bring it back. I will be surprised if it does. I would love to see our Vols kick some butt. Just don't think it is possible to do it at BMS.

It would be pocket change for Mr. Bruton Smith. Plus it would give him time to build more luxury condos near the track.

Would they add seats on the track surface?...If not, seems like a long way away to see the players and game action.
