Admittedly I don't follow the Vols very closely, but it seems like some games they come out and just chuck up 3s a littletoo much. That first half against Temple....wow....what did UT throw up, 20 threes? Will be a long couple hours for the defending Nat'l Champs if your kids are hitting nylon....

That's only happend one game for about 5 minutes against Georgetown. We have a much better shot going inside to Tyler Smith and Wayne Chism. Of course that's provided that Chism actually shows up to play.

The KU freshman have been inconsistent so far this year. We really look to Collins to lead them but.....well not so far anyway. KU v Arizona was painful to watch in the second half, so we're a little leary still. Good luck to the vols!

This will be my first time in Allen Fieldhouse without wearing Crimson and Blue. I will be decked out in orange and, hopefully, singing "Rocky Top" early and often.

As a lifelong fan of both schools, this game should be fun, regardless of outcome. KU and UT are both extremely talented, yet both still lack experience. Both KU and UT have had tough breaks against both good and bad teams this year (UT-Gonzaga, KU-Syracuse/Zona / UT-Temple, KU-UMass). This game will be a good prep heading into what could be tough early conference play, yet both teams could very much win their respective conferences.

If anyone from TN is heading out this weekend, you should have a good time in Lawrence and in Kansas City. The weather has been unseasonably warm, also (broke 60 two of the past 3 days). If you are bringing a wife, fiance, girlfriend, or some strange with you, take them out to dinner on The Plaza in Kansas City. They will be impressed.

I am going but have never been. How is the parking/scalping? Think this will be a really tough ticket?

In my opinion, this will be one of the toughest tickets of the year. Parking at KU is pretty terrible (which is aesthetically wonderful).

You might get lucky, since classes do not resume at KU until January 15th. However, I would venture to guess that at least 75% of KU's student body comes from the great Kansas City metro area, and hence are only 40-45 minutes from campus. This is a game that I believe they will drive back for.

I am not trying to discourage you, just preparing you for maybe having to shell out a pretty penny on gameday.

Ever since Chism was benched, you have to admit he has became a man and our most consistent player...

I guess one question now is, if Wayne doesn't make it back in time, will BWill have the goods to deal with Aldrich for long stretches? The Jayhawks have won the last 31 outings at Allen Field House. Here's hoping we end that stretch...

KU coach Bill Self (on the upcoming UT game):
"We've played some good teams so far, but we haven't played anybody with the speed, just natural speed, that Tennessee has," Self said. "They'll make it hard on us to get it [the ball] in and do some things.

"It should be a fun game. I would think the building will be juiced for it. They're good, they're athletic and they put pressure on you for 40 minutes. We need to be able to combat that by putting pressure on them."

I can't wait for Saturday. Hopeful the focused vol team shows up or it could be a long night of throwing the remote at the TV

So. Where to park ???

Parking can be a bit of a pain when you do not have a parking pass for the lots that are designated for it. If you are open to paying $10-$20 to park away from the lots you will do fine. The earlier you get there, the better. I always find the parking lot behind Naismith Hall, where the basketball goals are and park there for $10.
Jayhawk fans are looking forward to this being a close hard fought game. :eek:k:

That'll work, but I guess there isn't any parking along the curb for free from the way you are talking? I always park for free for our home games, easy in and out too...
And I will be there probably at least 4 hours before tip off...

There is free parking along curbs up on the hill and in the residential area alongside campus.

How about some game talk?
I haven’t seen your team play this year. What is your opinion of your starters and who is your best 6th man? What are you strengths and weakness? Who is your toughest player?

Inconsistency (or youth which is probably the same thing) has been our (KU) biggest obstacle this year. We haven’t found our identity yet. It is clear that this team doesn’t know each other nearly as well as last year’s team and miscues have been the cause of some dumb turnovers. We were truly spoiled. We also need to do a better job of rebounding IMO.

Cole Aldrich, our center, at 6’11’’ is definitely our largest banger but he has not had the luxury of NBA talent around him like he did last year. This has allowed teams to focus on him and double up on him with mixed results. He has tended to get fouls and has to sit. He also gets his fair share. He’s an 83% free throw shooter so that is an advantage. Mostly he changes the game when he is in but has his ups and downs learning to be ‘the guy'.

Sherron Collins has tried to do too much this year and it has hurt in some games. He must be very frustrated with the young ‘uns and is trying to trust their abilities more. He’s a blazer but I think he may be a little banged up this game.- nothing announced but lately he has had flu/jammed hand/falls etc that makes me wonder. He’s solid and can drive & score, drive and dish or hit 3 pointers with regularity.

Tyshawn Taylor is a huge surprise. He is extremely athletic and has played beyond freshman status. He can drive and score although he tended to get offensive fouls in the earlier part of the year for it. He’s picking up very fast and seems to get that he needs to feed the post players. He does this pretty well.

I could go on but will wait to see if this is to your liking. Please tell me about your team.
