UT vs. KU

I even met a fellow Volnation poster while in Allen Fieldhouse.
Yours truly... Nice meeting you, Mike.

So, how did your wife feel about the officiating? One thing was for sure, and I said it before JP and Maze fouled out, you couldn't breathe on Collins without the whistle blowing.
Don't get me wrong, we absolutely did not play well enough to win, but who were those referees? Just curious... (My girlfriend loved the experience, but she said " I didn't like those two men, but other than that it was really fun..." The two men: The referee, and a Jayhawk fan behind us that took exception to me mocking some of their stuff they do...)

One thing is for sure, no matter what you saw on the TV or how bad it looked, when we got it to 77-70 there were 16,000+ very nervous Jayhawks. I mean you could just feel it, they were scared when it got down to game time. Of course we all know the rest of the story, and it would've been great to get the win, but that's a priceless memory I'll have for a long time. I didn't really get to the point where I believed we were going to pull it off, you could tell that it wasn't going to be allowed, but it was really funny. The Jayhawk fans were dogging their players for not handling the in bounds pressure. Despite the "L", an overall great experience, alot of fun and well worth the trip...

Sounds like quite an experience. I would love to go there sometime. That 77-70 possession was a critical one. I lost hope the second that shot went up. If we even make a 2 on that possession we have a whole new ball game with a Jayhawk team running scared. This one could have turned out differently for us with concentrated play down the stretch.

If these guys think calls went against them today just wait till they go on the road in conference play.....

Mentally tough teams get over it and move on to the next play....

Actually you are totally wrong. Kansas was getting all the calls and no-calls that an Oklahoma or Texas might have gotten during Big 12 play at Allen. Being on the road in your own conference isn't NEARLY as bad as being on the road half-way across the country. It was a terribly officiated game. On two different occasions, we were hit with elbows in the face. Those aren't non-calls on the road inside the conference. Also, Kansas was allowed to walk on a number of occasions. The refs cost us about 6-8 points easily.

Throw in at least 2 charges that Prince drew that weren't called and you can make that 10-12 points.

Exactly. I hate to blame officiating but it was terrible and it fueled much of their momentum in the first half. You come down and plow into a set defensive player. Then make the shot with a no-call is dis-heartening to the players. I don't care what anyone says.

I just wanted to stop by and say congrats to you Tennessee fans. Never in my life have I seen such a group of crybabies. Every other post was about the refs. Nevermind the fact that you attempted more free throws during a road game which doesn't happen too often.

I wanted to stop after reading the first few pages after the game started, but it turned into something like looking at a train wreck. I didn't want to look at the next page but I had to see if it was possible for there to be more crying.

Sure enough, there was. Awesome job. :clapping:

you apparently don't know enough basketball to understand how this happened. Well done.

None of this post had any actual critique or praise of the officiating crew. You are merely trolling. My guess is that you are some t-shirt Kansas fan who knows little to nothing about the game or the game of basketball i ngeneral.

*insert post where they respond with either their IQ or their amazing basketball experience*
