UT worst fans in the country

You know it. It is absolutely pathetic. Piss on the majority of you. Quit watching if you hate EVERY SINGLE PLAYER on the team and the Coach. There is a big percentage of internet heroes who think being an informed fan means you are critical of every player on your team, it doesn't.
For those of you who want Bruce gone, go bite your mom. UT basketball was irrelevant before Bruce, and will return there the moment you guys chase him off.
To those that think that you know what is in any players heart, you don;t.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic that many of you think that winning games means more to you than the guys who play.
Someone actually wanted to attack Prince for taking a wide open shot with 3 mintes left down by nearly 20? Chism is a wuss because he layed down? Scotty has no heart because you guys know what he thinks? Why? Because you ran your mouth on a UK message board when he signed here so it has to be his fault that he isn't as good yet as you told them he would be?
With fans like this, UT should scrap the program. This happens over and over. Clausen, Crompton, Prince, Pearl, Hopson, Woolridge. It is amazing any decent player would ever want to play for a team whos fans actually hate their players.
UT fans will get what the deserve, a team that goes to the NIT every 6 years. Congratulations.

Our basketball fans, especially on VolNation are among the worst I’ve seen (up there with Texas A&M football fans).

Some people just have nothing better to do with their time than hate...if you have to criticize college players on an internet forum it says a lot about you as a person, imo.

Poster! Go back to your Florida Gator board, we know that's who you are. Real fan get emotional, critical, and passionate. That's what being a FAN is all about. So screw you and Lane and all you "do-gooder" so called Big Orange fans. If you can't handle the honest critism, don't read. You told us not to watch, remember?

Another unfounded argument from the Endless Defenders of Pearl. It seems that UT basketball simply can't survive without him.

Now with all due respect, I agree we should bash every player or the coach. But someone asked where Renaldo was and I answered. That's all

Believe it or not I completely agree with TNBV, and I'm a diehard Vol fan. It doesnt matter how well we are playing in any particular sport. As soon as the team hits a speed bump fans become so critical of the players who've carried their team the whole season. Example: Calling W. Chism a wuss... Really???, S. Hopson, who has hit a slump the past couple of games, finally has a really good offensive game and people start calling out how he's got no heart and no desire to use his athletic ability... GET REAL. I'd be willing to bet over 70% of the critical posts in here are from UT fan's who were ex youth players or maybe just maybe highschool players who couldn't hack it. Leave these young men alone and instead of putting them down each and every game, even after wins, how about showing some kind of compassion and support ur team(s).

Good idea, somewhat poor execution though. I'll agree that some people here are way overcritical of the players and Pearl. "The sky is falling" will always be the attitude post-loss, that's just the way it is. The fact that the team completely quit in the 2nd half doesn't help.

But yes, those certain few that feel the need to draw attention to themselves while shouting negativity to bring upon confrontation need to chill. It's almost like negativity/being overcritical is the cool thing around here.

People acting like they are better fans and better people because they let blind homerism run their lives are a joke. Quit being so insecure of your own fanhood, and take the orange glasses off.

Hold on now. There's no point in attacking the entire fan base, or the majority of the fan base, based on a minority of complainers. And, out of that minority of complainers, some just don't know how to criticize constructively. Not their fault entirely.

I routinely view about 15-20 per week and can honestly say VolNation (basketball only) is one of the most unrealistic, out of touch with reality group of fans out there. TexAgs (24/7) and CatsPause (24/7, but especially after a loss) are worse.

Here come the terrible analogies to things that have absolutely nothing in common with what we're talking about, mixed in with counter attacks designed to defend or rationalize unfounded and under-informed criticism of 18-22 year old boys who don't even know your names. Who is saying they want Pearl gone? I think we all want him to win, but some of us have legitimate doubts about how far he can ever take us in the postseason (you know, the games that actually matter when it's said and done).

The reality is that Pearl hasn't accomplished anything in March that Jerry Green didn't do a decade ago, and Green got fired.

I think Pearl has been good for this program, but I don't think just making the tournament and doing nothing once we get there is worthy of a lifetime contract.

I think the point is, what's the point of complaining??? This year's team is what it is. It won't live up to preseason hype for a variety of reasons. But the constant complaining isn't going to change that.
