Does an onside kick not have to touch the ground or be mishandled by the receiving team before being recovered by the kicking team? I swear he popped that thing straight up off the tee.

And they also did not start the clock when Utah St. kicked off with 3:38 left. It doesn't matter that much though, because that didn't decide the game.

I'm pretty sure it's a live ball no matter what after it goes 10 yards.

it hit the ground.. it kicked the top of the ball and it went straight into the ground and popped up

Has to go 10 yards OR be touched by the receiving team. After 10 yards it's a live ball.

It could have, but the replay didn't look like it. Perfectly executed if so. I'm about 99% sure that if it doesn't hit the ground the receiving team has to have an opportunity to catch it.
