Utah St. vs Auburn....wow

Auburn should be very humbled by this 'win'...Utah should have simply walked off the field with 3 minutes to go, it would have been less painfull to watch

I put that on Utah states coaches. Feel bad for the players. They went soft and conservative at the wrong time.

The last 3 mins were embarrassing...

That's an understatement. If I were a USU fan right now I'd be irate. You outplay Auburn for 57 minutes and go up 10 with about 3:00 to play and let them score a TD in about a minute then give up an onsides kick.

Seriously I'd be puking.

It could have, but the replay didn't look like it. Perfectly executed if so. I'm about 99% sure that if it doesn't hit the ground the receiving team has to have an opportunity to catch it.

Only if there is someone there attempting to catch it.

It was legit dude.

If they call a fair catch but those guys aren't gonna think that fast.

Even worse since OSU was on the road

I'd be furious.

Reminds me of a Arky/UT game in the early 90's

There was someone there to field it; my only question is whether or not it was kicked into the ground before it popped up and traveled 10 yards. If it did, no problem. If it didn't, US has to be given a chance to catch.

You either have to cal timeouts when Auburn is about to score or let them score to give yourself time to score.. Horrible coaching, i feel for those kids. They gave their all and fought hard and let their stupid coach screw it up

I can't possibly see Auburn having a winning season this year. Look for MSU to lay the smackdown next week.

You're pretty the only one arguing this; that should tell you you're wasting your time.

No they don't. If a guy calls fair catch is the only time on a kickoff.

Once it goes 10 yards it is anyone's ball.

I'm not arguing anything. I simply didn't see the ball hit the ground off the tee, but I'm a dude so I'm not pretty. I know the rule; from the variety of responses it's obvious several folks don't.

Are some of you actually saying that the ball can be punched up in the air straight off the tee, not touching the ground, travel in the air 10 yards, and be legally fielded by the kicking team?

Sorry, I missed a "much" after the pretty. And Ali was pretty.

So I guess none of the SEC crew at the game know the rule either?

If it goes 10 yards without touching the ground a guy has to call fair catch or he's fair game to get layed out. It's not a punt where there's a halo rule.

I never argued a rule interpretation by a crew; I just didn't see the ball hit the ground off the tee. Have another drink.

That's exactly right unless a guy for the other team calls fair catch.

Yes, that's exactly what we're saying.
