Utah State feeling confident

Heat, humidity, noise and early adrenalin ... Aggies might hang with us early, but I believe that as the starters tire and dehydrate, Vols' depth of talent will overwhelm their's.

Why couldn't I say the same thing????

Because our defense is designed to penetrate. Yours isnt. Your players can't take up space when they are 5 yds down field.

Also I think we are better at virtually every position except QB.

Utah State is perhaps looking back at UT's record the last 4 years and thinking "We've Got this One", thinking that they have played much better teams in the past and won.

Pat Forde:

Dumbest thing: Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton coming back from a blown knee to play his senior year behind a totally rebuilt offensive line, with no proven running backs and a 5-foot-7 go-to receiver. Love Keeton, but hope he isn’t set up for a beating.

Just a few quick facts from the rosters I saw.

USU Oline - Average weight = 289
UT Oline - Average weight = 308

USU WR's - Average 6ft 167lbs
UT WR's - Average 6'1" 200;bs

USU CB's Average 5'8" 179lbs
UT CB's Average 5'9" 190lbs

USU DL Average 269lbs
UT DL Average 308lbs

USU RB's = average 185lbs
UT RB's = average 197lbs

USU LB average = 227lbs
UT LB average = 226lbs

And for the hell of it their QB's = 193 pounds our QB's = 215

If the conditioning is as good or better than last year I don't see USU surviving 4 quarters just from sheer lack of size.

This was done last year, a comparison of average position size, before the Oregon game. Not really sure it proves anything.

Also, we only have 1 guy on the DL that even weighs 300 lbs, Sawyers, so I'm not sure how we average 308, unless you're including Mosley who is out for the season and obviously won't play vs USU.
