I'm sure it wasnt as hot as the UCLA game, but the 2005 UAB game had a heat index well into the 100s. Ive never seen people passing out like that. It was miserable and so was the play on the field. And of course that went on to be one of the biggest let down seasons ever!
Heat and humidity wouldn't be an issue against UAB. That UCLA game was brutal. I was young and worked outside every day back then, so it wasn't a big deal to me, but there were several band members who passed out during the halftime show. Folks were passing out in concession lines while trying to buy water. On television you could see UCLA players running off the field to puke throughout the game. Smokey had a heat stroke. IT WAS BAD. Good was the win, the whiskey and the cute little co-ed from Brentwood I was able to assist in the concession line while buying a bit of coke to water down my whiskey.
