The head coach is in his second season so they just learned a new system too.

No, he's been there for awhile, two years under the previous regime, including Anderson's last year as OC
Look at the tape and tell me they don't look like a cohesive, decisive unit on Offense. I wish we looked like that

LOL I have no idea what this means. But by all means, continue to follow your literary delusions rather than face the facts of what we're up against.

We're up against a well coached team, Mr. durr. As I said they will give us fits and then some. However, I see no reason to sign an unconditional surrender agreement as a result. or lose faith in my team and dare to state that faith in my own Woodsmanvol way. VOLS Forever!!!!!

I've got Vol fever, oh yeah, I've got Vol fever.
Real Vols fans have got Vol fever, we've got faith in our team.
Real fans are Vols crazy and I'm completely Vols hazy.
Ain't no thinking maybe, we've got faith in our team.

Matt wells has been there but the rest of the coaching staff has not except the LB, WR, and DL coaches so they have a new OC and DC so I'm sure there is some learning of a new scheme. I also watched them a lot last season because it seemed their games were always on here on the west coast and yes they do look good.

Butch did a bit of games man ship with moving it to SUNDAY, most east Tennessee knows that BOOMSDAY will be rocking down on the strip, for a team that is not use to the action its going to be a long night trying to sleep on Pacific time and the rockets glaring out side...hope our team can relax and sleep also.

I don't think losing him will a be a big deal. I'm way more concerned about ALL of their QB's. Have you seen their stats?

I don't expect USU to be a walkover. I believe they will give us fits and then some. But then, after the mid to late third quarter, Tennessee Pride will start to manifest itself in earnest. Not the sausage but the orange hearts of the O&W clad players. Then the distant grumble of thunder will become a ground shaking rumble. The orange storm will arrive. Thunder shakes the ground, lightning sets the sky afire. Lane Hurd Pearson is up North and all Malone. A Young Wolf with a Pig at the Helm will leave no Croom for the Aggies who will gag. I'll tell you a truth. When lightning strikes, thunder follows.

I see this game being similar to our Boise State opener in '11. Our guys had the attitude of SEC superiority and BSU was very talented and had something they wanted to prove. I think anyone who thinks this will be an easy blowout is going to be disappointed. They'll come to play.

Oh my, this again. Sounds like the same negavols that had us losing to NC State and Petrino's WKU. Do you guys also hide under the covers everytime you hear thunder? UT is a better team with better talent. Period.

Lose to Vanderbilt in back to back years and you start to realize almost anyone is capable of beating you.

The Chuckie Keeton that shows up will be the deciding factor on if we blow them out, they keep it close (ie Troy '12 or USA '13) or if they end up beating us. Not knowing which version is playing until game time is the worse position to be in as an opposing coach imo.

This game should not be close. UT should win by 17+ based on talent. I know they have had recent success relative to the competition they face however UT simply has better athletes overall.

You do realize currently Tennessee is a two point underdog don't you?

Maybe the past two yrs. Right now I doubt it. The most question marks in CFB. They lost the most starters in FBS. Chuckie and the starting RB are coming off ACL/MCL surgery. We have seen our players deal with that. No telling how that'll be. I'd guess that's quite a mental hurdle as well to come back from and be expected to perform good from the first snap. When we play He will more than likely not even taken a real hit since October of 2013. Won't help to possibly lose another to suspension or something either.

I think it will provide him a chip on the shoulder, but being the first game of the season and in an exremely hostile environment where everyone wants to see him flattened, it could MAYBE get to him. Especially since we'll be one of their most diffcult games of the year.

In regards to their wide receiver though, it may help us but I am sorry to hear it. Many of these young kids have a world of opportunity they blow simply by poor decisions. I call them kids, even though I'm not much older, but a few years makes a world of difference from18 to 24. Hope he gets himself straightened out.

And I prefer to play USU at full strength so no excuses are available when it's over.

Totally the same on this WV. It just baffles me when people get excited about winning when the opponent is not 100%. Especially here in recent yrs when we r rebuilding. Beating a team when they aren't 100% doesn't show improvement to hang ur hat on imo. False hope is created.

I agree with u that based on talent we should beat them by a lot. We just aren't in any kind of position to be confident going into any game to win just based on talent. That's why I used Troy, and USA games as examples. Letting these types of teams stick around can bite us in the butt every once in awhile.

And for the record if it weren't for the uncertainty of which Keeton comes out to play I'd be a bit more confident. Said it before...I'm taking every game as they come along. Imo we aren't in any kind of position to not take the season game by game.

no they arent. where did everyone get that?

that was never the case. those were projections about 4 months ago. the only actualy betting lines have UT anywhere from a 5-7.5 pt favorite right now. they keep flip flopping from 7 to 5 and vice versa every couple days. If Natson gets suspended it will surely change a little btw.

There is nothing to gloat about. USU is a better team than us assuming CK16 is a full go. We have the home field advantage, which is huge, but anybody expecting an automatic-W will be in for a surprise. Fact: USU will have the best player on the field at all times. OLB Kyler Fackrell is a freak, even by SEC measure. CK16 is a Heisman contender and this is his chance to make a statement. They are well coached and their defense is formidable. What % of our team will be making their debut in this game, 40? Including all the true freshman, who, while extremely talented, are facing guys 3-4 years older than them who have developed in the same system their entire time. This team is comparable to the 2013 UCF and NIU teams, neither of which we were better than. This is a formidable opponent and by no means an auto-W, no matter how you spin it. I expect to win, but losing this game is no disappointment and certainly no shame.

sweet competition he was playing in those videos. I wish we could have played some of the teams he has played in his career.

they only have 6 kids on roster with atleast 10 career starts. thats less than UT. They have a few with just under 10 but then we have a several of those too. you talk about UTs turnover but they have had even more and are less experienced across the board than UT. So i dont think the freshman thing will mean as much in this one. this one will be more of a talent thing. you also cant use their game vs USC or anyone bc they lost about 16-17 contributing guys from that game. personnel wise they look nothing like 2013. those are also facts.

its not a real line. those were projections from months ago. the only real lines out have UT as a favorite by 5-7.5 and it flip flops every few days. go to 5 dimes or bovada. thats about all thats out right now.

Let me kow where those lines are. At the end of last year USU would have been a nine point favorite on a neutral field based on indexes. According to Danny Sheridan himself the formulas place very little weight on the incoming freshman class and a lot of weight on lost players. Explain to me how Utah State lost 16.5 pts more worth of players.
