I've never needed them, and don't think you would have, either. But after this conversation (!), I think you should definitely have some in your pocket or you might worry. Never bothered my ears.

Thrilled my ears, yes! You can literally feel the energy in your body. The roar is exhilarating and our players clearly feed off it and love it. It's very much a positive and not a negative. I will admit to my voice being hoarse on the morning after a big game! Especially in a tight game where the crowd is determined to make sure the opposing offense cannot hear it's snap count! In those cases, it is amusing and telling that the crowd gets (relatively) quiet for our offense's snap counts! Vols fans know the game. It's also a great set up for the sudden roar for our offense when we get a big play.

I have had season tickets in several different areas of the stadium. There are some where my ears rang for 3 days afterward...which clearly damaged my hearing. There are others where it's not an issue at all. When in doubt, keep some earplugs in your pocket.

I was there. That game peed me off. Game of inches.

Leaving that game was weird. Even the dawg fans were civil. They knew they barely pulled it out and were even humble about it. It was very strange. So very close to a huge victory.

Yeah. Pig was trying to make a play. Felt so bad. He wanted that W so much.
Was also at the game. Crowd was absolute madhouse. Was one of the few times I was under the upper deck. sound was unbelievable. Top deck was swaying. Lost my voice for a week. We just about willed our team to victory, everyone wanted it so bad. One of the few times we played better than we were.

I think that was also the game JRM blocked a punt for a TD. Best crowd experience i have gone through. I was at the Oklahoma, Oregon games, and the 2016 florida victory.

That Florida game was insane. When Jennings made that catch, I believe I lost my hearing for awhile after that.
Jennings UF catch, Hardesty and Meachem (pick one of his) TDs against Cal, and various third downs vs Ole Miss last year and Oklahoma are the loudest I’ve ever heard Neyland. Ears rang for almost a week after the OU game (we sat under the overhang in the north end zone).
