It’s not that tall of a task and happens all the time….High School coaches use the stud in athlete in whatever position helps the team the most and not necessarily the position that suits that player the most.Maybe. But never playing LB in HS and becoming one in the toughest conference in CF is a tall task. Is it possible? Sure. I just don’t know how likely it is.
It's an average...Frank Gore says hello
39 year old anomaly and RB Iron Man that just retired from the NFL.
That 3 year avg is misleading for those that have star/staying power. Just saying
Linebacker position is about instincts. "See ball, get ball." Pass coverage skills can be learned.
Agree he looks natural at RB.................
Depends on what LB position, but yes......I probably spoke too quick on that.LB is a whole lot more than see ball get ball.
You’re the QB of the defense.
Listen to the great LB’s like Ray Lewis and how much time they spent studying offenses. Watch them line up the defense. They know where everyone is supposed to be lined up. They have to make reads and check offs for defense.
-DohnCameron Seldon vaulted high into 247Sports' rankings after his sophomore year of at Heathsville (Va.) Northumberland and because of his multi-sport prowess, speed and ability on the football field.
All remain key parts of the profile of the No. 3 athlete and No. 24 player in the class of 2023, and he showed his elite speed again during the weekend when he blazed a 10.74 in the 100 meters en route to a state title.
It was a personal-best for the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Seldon, who is readying to make official visits to Maryland, Tennessee and Penn State.
Seldon ran his best 100 meter time of 10.74 seconds in the prelims of the Class 1A state championships. He won the title by running 10.76, winning by .5 seconds.
With the state meet now over, Seldon is set to turn his attention to recruiting.
The Top 100 athlete out of Heathsville (Va.) Northumberland will begin his official visits with a June 10 trip to Maryland. He will end the month with a June 24 visit to Penn State, and between those, he will be at Tennessee.
"I want to go to a school where I can win a championship," Seldon told 247Sports last month. "I want to have great teammates, great connections with the coaches and players, on and off the field, in the classroom. Just feel like I am at home."
He plans on announcing his college choice in July, but he has not yet settled on a date.
I remember reading something about Hurd being better on the defensive side but he refused to play defense at the next level (NCAA). IIRC, they said he could've been a beast at safety..Hurd tried to help his longevity by switching positions.
Sometimes you just got to play where you're best at.
With this kid, there's so much range.
He's 6'2 210 and runs 4.3
You could put him just about anywhere.
ILB, WR, and RB...honestly he could star at any of them.
He potentially could have. He played with my son at Beech High School and played very limited snaps on defense in late game passing situations. The kid was a freak athlete with elite measurable, so it would be hard to say that he wouldn't have been.I remember reading something about Hurd being better on the defensive side but he refused to play defense at the next level (NCAA).
