'24 VA LB Chris Cole (uga commit)

In all fairness, didn’t our staff only turn the heat up here after we lost Singleton to LSU? It’s all in the game, yo.
I think we turned our focus there after Singleton failed to make his last scheduled visit before the dead period due to his family issue, but him to Singleton was not a foregone conclusion at that point.

This 1000 times. If you think otherwise, you are an idiot.

After '98, I remember getting trapped in that mentality that after we'd gotten our first loss the season was over. Fifteen years in the wilderness has completely broken me of that. If you offered me 10-11 wins every year with no chance of falling back into being the national punch line, but we'd never win a national championship in my lifetime, I'd be happy to take that.

Let us be ranked and competitive with a shot. Heck with an 8 or 12 team playoff we always have a shot to make it.

this championship or bust mentality has taken the fun out of the sport. As long as we have entertaining 9+ win seasons I’m happy. Georgia fans have fallen in the trap of that mentality and now think they’re a blue blood which hilarious since they were irrelevant for 40 years. Their crash and burn will be oh so sweet

How about Alabama fans when Satan is gone…

The expanded playoffs change that dynamic so it's really not an issue any more, but, I'd personally gain more joy from watching a great team be a contender in every game they play, rather than watching the boom/bust cycle.

But I cringe when I see people with '98 NC gear, so maybe one NC just to freshen that up a bit. ;)

Yeah. We used to joke about UGA not winning a NC since 1980 but we have won one since 1998. The difference is UGA has been good to great over the past 20 years and just never got it done. We have been wandering through a nightmare for the past 20 years. I fully believe we have woken up and the nightmare is over, except for the rest of CFB.

I agree, the sport is supposed to be entertaining and enjoyable. Thankfully, it is more enjoyable ! The idea championship or bust mentality is too much stress and takes the enjoyment out of it. I have God, Family and Country much higher than sports. So glad watching Tennessee football is fun again :)

Linebacker Chris Cole is rolling into town late today and plans on being here through mid-afternoon on Sunday. Georgia obviously feels confident but Tennessee is going to get all weekend to leave a big impression on the Salem, Va. linebacker. His whole family is coming to town and besides Virginia Tech, who isn’t really in this in our opinion, the Vols are the closest potential destination. His goal is to announce in August as of now.
