'24 VA LB Chris Cole (uga commit)

Based on their track record recently (especially on the defensive side of the ball) if UGA gives you a commitable offer, that is the best decision for the kid, his future, and his family. They put LB’s in the NFL constantly. Love for a school has little to do with most of these kids decisions. Development into a high draft pick is their goal and UGA has that to pitch at nearly every position.
So does playing time and they’re absolutely loaded

Is the recruiting on the defensive side going to pick up? There's no arguing that we're doing fine in offensive recruiting, but we need to do better on defense.

Sucks to lose out on this kid because he looks to be a big time LB, but at least we have a couple of other LBs committed. My worry is DL.

seems to be sucking wind.

Come play for the program that just won’t back to back NC and put a million defensive players in the league or lose your spot
Pressure can bust pipes or create diamonds. I guess it makes sense but playing at Tennessee and also being as talented as Cole would probably not change his draft stock much at all after his college career is finished. My buddy unfortunately says sometimes a 20 is a 20. Haha

If he is a lock to UGA, I almost think it involves the handler as I believe Cole and the family really do love UT, the coaches, the culture and are close to Lewis' family.
So the handler doesn’t “work” for Cole and the family? They control final decision.

Guarantee Smart doesn’t win a National Championship if he took over the same Tennessee program that Heupel did.
But he didn't. He took over Georgia and has turned them into a juggernaut, both on the field and in recruiting. I'd really like to know how he sells kids on coming to ride the bench and wait their turn. I get it. They've won the last two NCs. But still, you'd think some of these kids would want to go somewhere they could start sooner. I mean, Georgia's third string is probably more talented than Group of 5 starters.

Then maybe he just likes UGA more. That would be the simple answer

Not saying this is for sure what's happening in Cole's case, just that some handlers in general do what's best for them instead of the family they represent.

What exactly do you think UGA says or does to press the kid into a decision? I am curious to see how pressure is applied in a way that turns a kid from in love with Tennessee to a UGA lock. What is the straw that breaks a kids back like Cole to burst under the pressure instead of playing it out to make the best decision for him, hus future, and his family.
The baseline reasoning as to any issue involving any rival team is essentially a variant of Happy Gilmore's apology: they are stupid, we are smart; they are bad, we are good; they are dishonest, we are honest; etc.

Someone explain to me why a highly rated prospect would have a handler. What purpose would he serve? Using this case as an example, he has plenty of options for colleges so what is a handler going to do for him.

I know we're not supposed to be "negative", but DL recruiting is concerning IMO. Hopefully Nwaneri "shocks the world" but I'm not holding my breath.
weve definitely don't have any one left on the board that i have any level of confidence that we will get.

not sure if the investigation is just hurting us that much still. nil is harder for us bc of competition. not sure what the issue is. but i'm not overwhelmed at, te, wr, dl or de this year.
