'24 VA LB Chris Cole (uga commit)

weve definitely don't have any one left on the board that i have any level of confidence that we will get.

not sure if the investigation is just hurting us that much still. nil is harder for us bc of competition. not sure what the issue is. but i'm not overwhelmed at, te, wr, dl or de this year.
We're fine on offense, IMO. Defense is the concern, specifically the DL.

I would think....now this is just my opinion...that maybe since our offense gets off the field so quick and the defense is gonna be playing a lot of minutes...wonder if that deters some of these highly coveted defensive guys

I’ve had that same thought but I also see benefits like more film out there for the NFL to see.

Guarantee Smart doesn’t win a National Championship if he took over the same Tennessee program that Heupel did.
Saban is regarded as the best coach in the history of college football. Is he that great of a coach or is he just a great recruiter? He's been able to purchase whatever players he's wanted for years. One of his disciples comes here and seemed shocked that he couldn't get away with bags of cash to recruits. He didn't just all of a sudden start that stuff. It was learned behavior. Saban has won a lot but he's done it with rosters that were usually better than anyone he's played, usually by an astounding amount. Now comes Kirby, same deal. He's been buying players since he got there. Isn't it funny that they want limits on NIL? They see others that can compete with them only legally.

Yeah, but it's potentially film of you getting worn out and beat more. Not saying it's the case but I bet defensive recruits are hearing that from other teams though, and until we prove it wrong it's going to be a problem. Hopefully we make big strides on D this year.

Part of coaching is recruiting in cfb. Saban also seems to have mastered the CEO role at Bama. There are different approaches a HC can take.

Ours is a genius Xs and Os guy who is building his culture his way. Time will tell just how much success he has. I believe it’ll be a hell of a lot.

Dabo is a culture guy. Not a genius in any area of coaching but the dude can build a culture.

Smart can recruit and call D plays at a high level. But his masters is in recruiting. We’re currently witnessing lack of attention to detail in his culture building. He’s built a winner but it appears to be propped up on a poor foundation. We’ll see if it eventually bites him.

JESUS WHY CANT PEOPLE READ ON THIS BOARD!???
We can...we just like seeing you bent out of shape and shouting. It amuses us.

Not to mention, it's obviously YOU who needs to learn how to read.

We had a great defensive class last year…. Some good pieces so far in this class…..This is our best average star ratings class in years at this point….. we are growing just like we should…. People expecting us to recruit exactly like Bama or Georgia at this point is being ridiculous.

If UGA's program falls over a bunch of traffic citations I think it'll be the first time that's happened. It's something like 6 straight years they've had Top 7 or better finishes so I don't think he's a flash in the pan. I look at it kind of like when Spurrier was at Florida. They are going to be good as long as he's there, but like Spurrier I don't think he's a lifer. I see him hanging around maybe 5 more years tops.

Def not a flash in the pan. And of course traffic citations won’t be the downfall. But the fact they can’t get it under control points to lack of detail in the foundation. Will other cracks start to appear? Maybe not.

I realize a major part of a head coaches job in college is recruiting. What do all three of those have in common? All have recruited at a high level. All have had implications that they've paid players at a level other programs don't/can't. If you take any of those coaches and placed them in a program where they had average talent and had the same salary cap as other programs, I don't think they would be thought of as they are today.

We have to start winning championships to expect to land more of these type players. It’s amazing what we do have considering we haven’t won a championship in 25 years…

Post 2 pretty much pigeonholed you into being a troll ‘drive by insider’. And yeah bragging about ‘embarrassing’ some who doesn’t take a 3 post anonymous poster makes you a complete loser. Regardless of where the kid goes. Embrace what you are Lisa

Don’t attack me for being a troll with no evidence when I bring information then. It’s not hard.

I mean...while we're here...
SC hasnt won a meaningful game, outside of besting us somehow. In, ever.

Young men speeding is something parents and insurance companies and others have had limited success stopping over the years. This is one place players making big NIL money is probably not helping because the thing that might otherwise deter them (the cost of the tickets and increasing insurance premiums) doesn't have as much effect when they are making money. I do think they could take a bit of a step back this year if they don't have an answer at quarterback, I think they miss Bennett more than think. He was the ultimate guy who didn't look like much but was just a gamer.

As in, it’s done? Like he told the staff leave me alone, I’m going to UGA? Come on, MV. You know we need to know if it’s time to move on, or if there’s still a chance the staff can sway him.

Think it’s time to move along. Had a great visit, but a spot is there for him and I think he’s gonna take it.

This! I guarantee Coach Hype would have won at least one or two at Georgia with the same length of tenure as Smart and the rosters Smart has had the entirety of his tenure. Honestly, it would be scary and also completely unfair if the circumstances were reversed. It also makes me begin to believe that UT will be scary good on BOTH sides of the ball sooner rather than later and we will win a national championship with CJH.

We have 2 LBs committed and we only lose 2 after this season. Taking 3 wasn't a need for this class, it was a want if you could pull the right 3. This only stings because it's another ridiculous athlete in Georgia's arsenal.
It stings because he's most likely better than the two we got, BUT, we can still win with the two we got.

What a rollercoaster of a day. It’s begins with a quote from AP saying we have a solid chance to land this kid then in the afternoon he gets fong’d to the barking adults.

Kid commits in a month. Maybe things change who knows. Sounded like the kid didn’t like being rushed by Kirby but looks like it might have worked. We’ll see if we have any bottom of the 9th inning magic like we did with Arion Carter last year.
