'24 VA LB Chris Cole (uga commit)

I am not surprised by this. It seems like the Kirby Cup is becoming a real thing. I have a feeling that you either get in line and shut your mouth at UGA or you commit and or transfer to another school. It is becoming even more obvious on the sidelines watching the UGA support staff, coaches, and players interact the way they do. It has gotten worse every year. I distinctly recall a few years ago, a 5 star receiver from UGA taking his gatorade bottle and squeezing it directly in the opposing players face. Small things like this are non verbal communication and cues that somehow allow a kid to think it is ok to behave this way. To be honest, I think UGA is a ticking time bomb. Here is a situation I would like to propose. What if the horrific Jaylen Carter incident happens before the Tennessee game last year? Does Kirby still win a title? or does OSU even have to think about that missed field goal for eternity?(BTW this was the only time I have ever in my life pulled for those losers from Columbus). Kirby and UGA are one horrific incident happening during the season from imploding and becoming viewed as a toxic program and culture to be around regardless of championships or wins on the field. There are tons of kids and parents that will continue to grow, that want to steer clear of Athens. I feel like Kirby is going to get as many wins and championships as he can before his house of cards comes tumbling down. Does anyone else feel and or see the culture problem even on the sidelines during games like I do or am I in the minority?
Others will disagree and even rationalize that you should take the short term benefits even if it means tolerating bad stuff. But this always catches up with an organization. Culture and character matter.

Per Chad Simmons

Simmons’ Take: “Chris Cole is committing on Sept. 10, and it is expected to come down to Georgia and Tennessee. Some in his area think Virginia Tech still has a shot, and he is visiting USC this weekend, but the two at the top are the Vols and Bulldogs. The weekend before Cole commits, he is eyeing a return visit to Knoxville. Heading into September, Georgia looks to be in the best position, but Tennessee had Cole on campus in July and they are expected to host him again next weekend. This race could be a little tighter than some think.”

Welp looks like he gone. Fonged to uga as well. Unless he makes it in, and even then maybe, looks like he’s uga bound. I f’ing hate them.
Back away from the ledge. Dildong CBed him a month ago. He is visiting Tennessee and committing a day later. If he makes that visit, you have to think our chin especially are at least 50-50.

Tennessee is a week away from linebacker Chris Cole coming to town for his official visit. He is at Southern Cal this weekend but we believe this is a Tennessee and Georgia battle in the end. Brian Jean Mary will be at his game next week and then they will both head back to Knoxville for Cole’s official visit. Cole has remained in steady contact with the staff and Tennessee has a real chance to be his choice when he makes his selection next Sunday. -VQ

Is it just me or has the VQ language continued to get more and more bullish here?

August 17th War Room:

"Virginia linebacker Chris Cole is officially set to visit Tennessee for the Austin Peay weekend which happens to be the same weekend he commits on that Sunday. Cole and Brian Jean Mary continue to build a good bond and we believe the Vols have a real shot here. We know there have been some predictions for UGA but he wouldn’t be visiting in our opinion if he was set in stone on Georgia. He will also visit USC the weekend before."

August 24th War Room:
"Virginia linebacker, Chris Cole and Tennessee continue to have great dialogue as he will come to town for the Austin Peay game the second weekend in September. He will commit that Sunday after his visit, so Tennessee will have the chance to leave a lasting impression heading into that announcement."

If I remember right he scheduled his announcement date after visiting Georgia.

If so, to me that sounds like he was going to commit to them but either wanted to check UT one more time or his parents want him to. If so, we are behind and are going to have to do something outlandish to sway him. He scheduled this visit after he made announcement date right? Doesn’t that sound like “I’m going to Georgia, ok ok I’ll look at UT one more time since my bf and parents ideally want me to go there. I’ll give them that because I respect them.”

That’s what the puzzle pieces sound like to me if I’m correct on those deets. Hope I’m wrong.

It was talked about him visiting eve before the date was announced. There was talk about him taking a ov the second he left campus in late july
Edit: he also visited Georgia in early June. Way before he set his commitment date. Your dates are all messed up

That's my thinking. Glad he is visiting before his commitment though, but Austin Peay will be a snoozer.

Have you ever worked a puzzle of more than 50 pieces? Why would a kid set a date and then a UT visit the day before. Just to tick off your supposed leader? Bet your solving slows way down after all the pieces with straight edges are gone. Why publicly predict gloom for the team with your colors when it requires the ever popular I HOPE I AM WRONG disclaimer. Sometimes discretion is the money play. At a minimum we have made it a dogfight with one of the sexier teams of signing days of late. Never up never in.
