USC is always going to compete for championships, always has talent. But has zero support for games, unless its a marquee matchup.

USC has went for it’s own stretches of losing seasons. Talent doesn’t always win championships, lots of distractions for kids on the left coast. But I agree they will always have some good seasons thrown in just because they are a big school with a lot of talent around them. GBO

Bet the staff/SPYRE consortium have a plan/budget that goes much deeper than their assessment of where any players talent/ceiling is any given year. No question our staff has a pecking order SOMEWHERE on players by position and a desecendig by position need sequence. One QB can have a tremendous value on the field and in the living rooms, most position players not so much. If your room is void of this position at this level vs great addition to a room with similar talent analysis will impact the allocation of resources. Being good stewards of NIL is going to be even more important as we stack up multiple classes with NIL commitments being made, as well as adjustments to keep guys after our initial deal is out of line. Not competing individually is not an indication we COULD not be competitive. Got to attempt to get the biggest bang for the ALL the available bucks year after year. It is a brave new NIL/Portal world.
