Vacation / Travel

It is not one of the main beaches, it and the Redington beaches are your best bet if you want a little solitude. Indian Rocks and Mad(madeira)beach have gotten more trendy the last few years, but they are not too bad. Clearwater and St. Pete beach are the most crowded. The Johns pass area on both sides of the pass gets really busy also sometimes.

Found a sweet looking spot at Madeira that may be a go

Mad beach is what we called it down there. It was our go to beach when we lived in The Jungle neighborhood about 5 minutes away.

Ever have issues with june grass/seaweed down that way? That's what is making us look away from the okaloosa area. Last year it was so bad you couldnt get into the water

Not a private island but Boca Grande further south is supposed to be nice. I haven't been there yet but I'm sure others can chime in.

Boca Grande is awesome. Small, little town with great beaches and amazing marine life.

Tarpon, large sharks, jewfish everywhere

It is hit or miss. The Pinellas beaches usually aren't too bad, but it can sometimes. If the place right where you are staying is getting some, usually if you ask around, somebody can point you to a spot where it is not. There is like 26 miles of beach along Gulf drive. Sorry for the non definitive answer. Without actually being there now, I can't say for sure.

No you're fine. Last year was just miserable

Was in Charlotte the week of 13 June for 4 days. Saw the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Penske Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Stewart-Haas Racing, JR Motorsport and the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame. Only the first and the last had entrance fees. Took about 800-900 pictures and listed some on Facebook.

Doing a trip to East Tennesse in early October for a class reunion for about 5 days. Miss the mountains. Should be cooler up north since I live in central Florida.

We just got home from SC vacation. Seen an old school interlocking UT flag hanging from a house on rainbow row on East Bay St in Charleston.
