Science has not left the building.
The peer review process remains intact.
Just because this thing got heavily politicized doesn’t mean the entire research community went on vacation. The studies that were trash got struck down. The ones that were not trash passed inspection. If this was climate change argument you might have an argument for group think as that group claims 98% consensus and have been caught faking data 3 times. But let that sick in. In a science that claims 98% consensus they still get the trash flushed out in the review process so in a system where there is no consensus you can pretty much accept that the bad studies will be picked apart. And they have been.

You’re fine.
You’re not wrong that there was a lot of stupidity that went on with this supposed pandemic. But let’s be honest about what happened and let’s deal with the facts. By claiming a mass conspiracy on something that obviously wasn’t only discredits any attempt to correct the actual problems.
(Ivermectin not your shot concern. The shot mandates is a different conversation and definitely different from ivermectin)

For example, look around and see who’s talking about the lung problems that are starting to surface because we put everyone in masks.
A legitimate **** up that has potential to be serious but nobody seems to know about it or care.

That’s just it. My argument isn’t that drs should not use it. It’s a proven safe drug that works against many things. Its use should be strictly between you and your Dr. the vaccine, like any other vaccine or drug, should be between you and your doctor. I’m 54 and my wife is high risk. We took the vaccine and first booster. Neither of my adult sons took the vaccine. The support for young adults and children needing it just wasn’t there. the only reason I’m saying anything in this thread is in response to the false accusations that ivermectin works against Covid and was intentionally suppressed in a huge conspiracy. Both of those are completely false.

It’s accountability to the extreme. I’m in an old man workout group. We call ourselves 19 good dudes and one miserable bastard. The identity of the miserable bastard changes from day to day. Everyone posts the last Friday of the month every month. It is very effective in keeping your diet on point.
Last year in the weigh in thread several of us posted. The challenge is out for my 55th birthday this year. If you’re embarrassed of how you look then maybe you shouldn’t post.

I totally get what you are saying and I understand the whole motivational and accountability side of this.....I'm just saying that for myself personally, even though I take great pride in being healthy, exercising and not putting junk into my body, and even though I'm very confident in my appearance with or without a shirt, it just doesn't come natural for me to want to post a picture of myself shirtless. Nothing wrong with it at all I'm just saying that's not me.

We got the eyeball of the front a couple of times last night. Wet and nasty, but all good here, save a little water intrusion in the basement thanks to a bad French drain that I've put off getting dug out.

Where are you on cold plunge?

I did one after my workout yesterday, but our definition might be a little different. The pool was 79 LOL

I have tried it when the water was 50-60, but I just don't enjoy it at all. I did a few cold-hot cycles Roman style at the Grove Park spa years ago and that was ok. Maybe it was the ambiance though.

I was a college athlete. A swimmer. I’m very comfortable being…..not modest. It’s ok if you’re not.

True story. I turned 50 the day Tennessee lost to Ga state. I was visiting family in New York. There’s a picture of me where I looked old and fat. Physically I was still in a decent place. One of my cousins, also a college athlete was 59 years old and was struggling with getting around. I decided at that moment….”nope, not this guy”. The Red woman had just been declared healed from cancer and was in better shape than 99 percent of the people our age. G-d has granted us additional time so it was time to make sure I was healthy enough to enjoy every second of every day gifted to me

My favorite part of this is when other contractors that don’t really know me are complaining about hurting and being old. They always go somewhere like “just wait till you hit your late 40s then you’ll know “ I’m always older than those fools.
