I bought a galvanized tank. I’ve got the ice/water thing figured out to regularly hit 55 deg after the work out. The studies on it seem inconclusive to leaning in favor of it but my antidotal experience says it’s very helpful in post workout recovery.I did one after my workout yesterday, but our definition might be a little different. The pool was 79 LOL
I have tried it when the water was 50-60, but I just don't enjoy it at all. I did a few cold-hot cycles Roman style at the Grove Park spa years ago and that was ok. Maybe it was the ambiance though.
It’s clearly not for everyone but I’ve gotten to a place of meditation when in the tank. I actually look forward to it.
