Manufacturing does as well. I honestly have never worked with that many convicted felons or drug addicts. At least that I'm not aware of.

By that definition all jobs are “skilled jobs”. Which means in your view the phrase skilled labor is meaningless because to you any labor is skilled labor.

It’s like saying is smart. If everyone is smart, the term itself lacks meaning and all you’ve done is changed the meaning of smart to “a person”.

It seems like in your own example you’re admitting the waitresses are more easily replaced (less skilled) than the cooks.

Anyone who applies themselves properly and takes pride in what they are doing are working in a skilled job. Sorry but I'm not going to disrespect people. Many who are out there providing for their family because of the job they are working.

I'm self employed now and work a lot of Saturdays. Why? Because if the janitor at the hospital or the server at IHOP is working Saturdays then so am I. I'm no better than them and their work is just as skilled and important as mine.

There is trained labor and untrained labor. Some people are more highly skilled within their profession than others.

Lol what? That’s the least logical thing I’ve heard. You work Saturday’s because other people do?

Some people work 24 hour shifts, so why don’t you that?

Some people work 100 hours a week. I’ve done it. Are you too good?

The idea that people don’t work Saturdays because they think they’re too good is just absurd

Wha ? If you are self employed and working Saturdays it’s to grow your business or maintain the standard whatever that may be . If a janitor is or ihop server is working Saturday it’s their shift or they are there for the time and a half . You got off into the weeds with that one . Lol

That's one reason. But there's also people in my business not working those days. I also choose to because I'm not better than anyone else having to work those days.

Or maybe people want to work those days because those are better paying days. Maybe some people value time more than money…at least on occasion.

You should go to IHOP or First Watch off Lovell Road about 1030am on Saturday mornings. It's crazy in both those places.

I get where your coming from but you actually are and that’s ok , you own the business. I have an aunt with the same outlook with her employees and I asked her the same question I’ll ask you , if that’s your reason for working weekends as a business owner then do you also work Christmas Eve and Day because some employees do ? I asked that question to her on Christmas Day while we were all gathered together to eat dinner and open presents . Lol

What about the people working at 3am? Do you work at 3am?

I’ve worked multiple 48 and 60 hour shifts. Do you work those or do you think you’re better than those people

A complicating factor to the entire situation is that the decision to get vaxxed or not get vaxxed has an effect on others.
