Vaccine or not?

So the employees have a right to sue their employer if they suffer any side effects of the vaccine?

Sure. Maybe,

$20 and a grudge gives anyone the ability to sue. Successfully suing may come down to case law, precedent and local, state or federal statutes.

At this point I'd imagine claiming "side effects" would be a tough row to hoe given the relatively safe profile the vaccine has shown.

Safe profile? Based on what?

Would you be okay if they required their female employees who are child bearing age to take birth control?

I would be.

Business should have the right to do business with who they want or employ who they want (within the bounds of the EEOC), full stop.

It would be up to the female employees to decide if they want to work there.

Are you okay with segregated bathrooms based on race?

Are you going to keep strawmanning until someone chases you down a rabbit hole of your own design?

Since we're asking irrelevant questions, are you OK with pineapple on pizza?
Now you've crossed the line Septic, that is a totally disgusting concept and people should be shot for the mere suggestion of it.

I don't know - I'm neutral on the subject, which is strange because almost universally folks have an opinion.

And yet I do not. You may have not noticed, but I usually have an opinion. Weird.

It's that libertarian side, you can't make your mind up one way or the other, so you become wishy-washy and go down the middle.

It is a relevant question. Why? Because most people have their limits on what a business owner can do.

And yes I'm okay with Pineapple on pizza. Haven't had it in awhile. You just have me a good dinner idea for this evening. Thanks Septic.

By the way. I also think anchovies on pizza is okay. One of my favorite toppings. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever tried anchovies and pineapple.

It's not a relevant question to this topic. My personal opinion on segregated bathrooms is wholly separate than my beliefs on a businesses autonomy.

But according to some people a private business owner can do what they want. Right?

Or are you only okay with them making decisions you agree with?

I am not paying my neighbor to live next to me.

I have to dress and act a certain way for my work. I would imagine pretty much anywhere does. Some places have fitness requirements if you do manual work. If you work somewhere with soecific dangers you are required to taken certain precautions. Deal with food you have the health department up your butt.

For me a business mandate only bothers me if it's the only health requirement and it's new. If the business already required you to have shots as a term of employment, travel, than a Covid vaccine mandate doesnt bother me.
What if a restaurant owner decides they do not want the health department inside their restaurant. Do they have the right to ban the health department from their restaurant?

Imo, yes. They would just have to post they dont follow the health department.

And post in a way easily visible to anyone visiting in person or their website.

You're doing a lot of talking and not enough listening.

I'm advocating for less regulation, less interference and more freedom for the business. I believe they should be allowed to employ who they want and under the terms it wants within the framework of current statute (namely the eeoc.)

You seem to believe employment is some sort of birthright and where it's guaranteed without condition. The universe doesn't owe you a thing. It doesn't care if you drive a Maserati to work or ride a bus. What you get out of life is largely based on choices you make and in this case if you don't want a vaccine - then don't get it.

Just don't get all butthurt when you get a pink slip, after all - you're the one who chose that option.

Really?

Being inspected by the HD isn't an option for a restaurant owner, you agree to it when you apply for your business license through the statutes that governs hygiene codes and standards.

You keep missing the big picture - you don't HAVE to be inspected by the HD. But that choice could lead to you having your restaurant closed, fined or possibly both.

Again, choices.

So a private business cannot do whatever they want? Glad we agree.

I am just asking a question. You need to take the health department issue up with the other person who responded to me. I don't know why you get all butthurt with someone simply asking questions.

Good to see you agree that private businesses cannot do whatever they want.

You are all over the place. The owners COuLD do that since it’s private property but would lose their license

No I'm not all over the place. People on here have said business owners should be able to run and operate their business without government interference.

So I'm glad me and you agree that a private business owner CANNOT do whatever they want.
