I've never seen any data presented that shows "vaccinated", "fully vaccinated" and "unvaccinated".
Not saying it doesn't exist just because I haven't seen it, I'm saying that the vast majority of the data presented only shows 2 groups being compared, "vaccinated" and "unvaccinated"...
And again, they don't report on being hospitalized "with" or "from" COVID. I'd never asked this about the data, and it's making some things over the last year or two make sense- for example, why did we see huge amounts of excess in the respiration/vent equipment in areas that had supposedly skyrocketing hospitalizations in the system we support? Why did we have so much excess PPE in areas that COVID was "crushing"?The gov wants it skewed.
You're bringing up an unintended consequence of all of this bad data (or deceptive data)... a lot of misallocation of resources. And again, they don't report on being hospitalized "with" or "from" COVID. On the ground logistics people were operating on both "current" and "projected" hospitalizations, but the clinicians weren't using the stuff that was bought for them- is it because it wasn't needed, because people that were "COVID hospitalizations" were actually there for something else and just happened to have COVID? There's no way I'm going to believe it is just widespread malpractice of some kind by the clinical staff, or that they just didn't have preference for what was sent (considering they had input into the supply lists for the response).
It's actually part of my job to deep dive data like this and ask questions, and until the last week or so none of us had thought about that particular element of what could be driving some of the massive excess supplies and equipment we're seeing offloaded/shifted away from certain places. I'm talking millions upon millions of dollars, tens of thousands of pallets of stuff that got shifted to hard hit areas and never was used. You're bringing up an unintended consequence of all of this bad data (or deceptive data)... a lot of misallocation of resources.
With the variant seemingly infecting everyone (natural immunity, vaccinated, unvaccinated) I expect that hospitalization will probably be a higher percentage of vaccinated as there are a higher percentage of vaccinated people. However as delta disappears and Omni takes over I also expect the hospitalization themselves to go down too.Not true for the recent variant as numbers were posted that you even attempted to address. They showed that at the very least the number was 40% with many unknowns
In another life (I’m like forest Gump. I’ve done a lot of things) I was in supply chain management. Using MRP and MRP2 not a whole lot of JIT. I say that to say there’s a whole lot of things going on that doesn’t make since. Especially with the monoclonal antibody treatments distribution. It's actually part of my job to deep dive data like this and ask questions, and until the last week or so none of us had thought about that particular element of what could be driving some of the massive excess supplies and equipment we're seeing offloaded/shifted away from certain places. There's no way to know without doing a deep dive study on a region and talking directly with everyone involved. Maybe I can get the all-clear to do it.
(we knew a lot of data was bad, especially some of our log data, procurement data, and inventory data, but what we never considered was how bad and/or misleading the actual COVID data was...we know there are likely problems with it but it is possible that it could be on a massive scale)

I’d be interested to see what you found out if ever given the chance.
Sometimes stupid things happen in big supply chain.Possibly. But they certainly can't be helping the matter.
Sometimes stupid things happen in big supply chain.
For example in early December a supply of 1200 1903a3 Springfield rifles was discovered in a Wearhouse. Wrapped in original paper never fired where they have been since 1926. You’d think that’s just a technology issue but in November Anderson lost an entire truckload of windows. The truck, the windows, everything. As of yesterday they have no idea where it is.
Back in the 1990s a branch of the military had a contract structure that required, when they needed new fatigues, that they order a batch that included every size. So if they ran out of Mediums, they had to order a batch that included Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large. This contract structure had been in place since the end of WWII.Sometimes stupid things happen in big supply chain.

So what happened? Someone stumbled on a massive warehouse literally full of XL and XXL uniforms dating back 50+ years. That contract structure eventually got fixed.
Anything is within the realm of possibility. I get it. There could be reasonable explanations.Sometimes stupid things happen in big supply chain.
