Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics thread

Well, this makes up for Canada killing our women's curling team this morning.

great that this one pains the Canadians much more. Everyone knows our curling sucks.

Did you see the end that blew that one open? Pathetic. There is no way McCormick has played before this week.

McCormick won the world championship a few years ago. Beating the woman who's announcing curling for CNBC, which I assume is why she sounds like she's got a turd in her mouth every time she says McCormick's name.

I don't know how a curler goes from winning a world championship to not being able to throw a rock into even the eight-foot circle when she needs to, but apparently it happens.

I am seriously shocked that she has won anything. Jorgaanstad needs to have the hammer for us and from me (see what I did there?).

Yeah, it's hard to believe that McCormick has done anything, judging from this week, but she's got a world championship medal hanging on the wall at home. I couldn't figure out why the woman announcing for CNBC sounded like she has such a huge amount of personal disdain for McCormick, so I googled it up and found out that McCormick had beaten her in the finals of a world championship tourney. So while McCormick has sucked out loud, it's clearly some sour grapes on Colleen from Canada's part.

Jorgaanstad definitely needs the hammer. All over the house.

Nice body slam by nedermeyer after the period is over. Stay classy bud, go figure another devil

he plays for the Ducks.

Nah. Just means a bye moving forward. Hockey crushed itself with the work stoppage. Gonna be hard to get back with a bunch of foreign stars.

Gold medal might make a difference, but is extraordinarily unlikely.

How many are watching on MSNBC? 14?

bingo on the second post.

hockey's biggest problem isn't the work stoppage anymore. it's the fact the average fan can't catch a game unless they have Versus, or happen to be home every Sunday from noon-3.

right now, NBC is forced to pimp Cindy Crosby, in a game where it's USA/Canada, on an American station. that's the problem.

See what you've been missing?
Hockey still is neck and neck with soccer for me, solidly under the "great to watch when there's a big game and national competitions" category.

I've seen more than a dozen hockey games, but I pretty much just watch Stanley Cup Finals, Winter Olympics... Same with soccer, and Premier Championship, World Cup and Summer Olympics.

To be fair, i think though they put it on MSNBC figuring both 1) it was going to be a blowout and (possibly more) 2) this was really a qualifier outside of a quarterfinal.....the bigger closer to the end and more medal-related will get main network airtime, but because of how far it still is from the final games it gets pushed to the side

Scott was longtime Devil. Rob was a longtime Duck. they now have swapped teams, after playing with each other for a few years in Anaheim.
I have always gotten them confused. They have both been Devils in their careers, so I put them in the same category:)

:eek:k:

I can't stomach watching a game of soccer.
