Vanderbilt assistant responds angrily

Which is it? Louisville is climbing up to be a 2nd tier team or they now have dominance over the SEC for beating Kentucky and a lack luster Florida team? :ermm:

If Temple football comes out of nowhere this season and wins the national championship, they're not a 1st tier program. Louisville needs to sustain their success, which they are, to climb the second tier which they've been in for a while. They began declining after Petrino left, but have continued to ascend the tier under Strong.

Louisville should go undefeated with the powder puff league schedule they have but when all is said and done this football season they will have teams with 2 losses ranked above them. I wouldnt be surprised to see a 3 loss team ranked above them.

You're completely delusional if you think that a 2-loss team will be ranked ahead of undefeated Louisville after this season or, at the very least, just don't understand how college football ranking works at all (it appears a lot of posters in this thread). To think that a 3-loss team would be ranked ahead of Louisville is absolutely laughable.

HAHA. Keep telling yourself that, Oh and it happends alot. There is always a undefeated team bit#hing about why they arent ranked above a team with a loss or 2. I would have to look it up but I think Boise State had a undefeated season but had teams with a loss or 2 ahead of them. Their problem was they didnt beat anyone, they had a powder puff schedule like Louisville does this year. But hey keep thinking that way- its a good laugh reading some of your posts.

... and here's where you display your lack of college football knowledge. In 2009, when Boise State went undefeated, the began the season #16 and they finished the regular season ranked #6, behind undefeated Alabama, undefeated Texas, undefeated TCU and undefeated Cincinnati. That's four undefeated teams from conferences greater than the WAC! Oh, yea, #5? One-loss Florida... not a two-loss team. Back in 2006? The Broncos shot up to #12 in the final poll before they upset Oklahoma... but began the season unranked.

This is apparently difficult for the dullards in this thread to comprehend, but Louisville is going to start the season ranked #10 at bare minimum. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see them open at between #6 and #4. Their schedule isn't great, but they're not going to fall after beating everyone in front of them, especially as a member of a BCS conference. Again, because this point apparently needs emphasizing for the 30th time in this thread alone, I'm not necessarily advocating ranking Louisville ahead of an undefeated team from the SEC, Big Ten, Pac 12, ACC or Big 12. If all five conferences have an undefeated team at the end of their regular season, then by all means, rank Louisville #6.

However... that's a fantasy. You might get an undefeated team or two, but I doubt that. At worst, Louisville will be ranked #4 behind two undefeated teams and a one-loss SEC school. Behind two and three-loss teams? You're simply a fool if you think that's going to happen.

Louisville is a basketball school that occasionally has good football teams. They're a nice football program but it is not a better job than UT unless you're into cream puff schedules.

Lol at them winning the NC this year.

I guess you didnt read the part that said (I would have to look it up but I think). Thats a very important part. Ill look it up later on who I am thinking about.
I love how you think louisville is going to be somebody. If they didnt play a powder puff schedule people here might take you more seriously. Until then Ill just keep laughing at you.

Whether or not you looked it up doesn't change the fact that Boise State in 2006 and 2009 faced a different set of circumstances than the 2013 Louisville Cardinals. Claiming that two and three-loss teams will be ranked above an undefeated Louisville squad at the end of the season is just plain stupid and indicates a glaring lack of college football understanding. "Ok, South Carolina, you started the season 3 spots behind Louisville and lost three times to pretty good opponents... let's move you ahead of the Cardinals!" It's just not going to happen.

This guy is almost making me wish Florida won. Almost.

If you think I'm insufferable now (which, of course, I totally am), just wait until Louisville starts plowing through the competition.

Hell, if coaching was my profession and I found myself employed by Vanderbilt, I'd be angry all the f@cking time.

If those three schools were say, Top 5 Bama, A&M, and/or Florida/LSU/Georgia I would not be surprised at all. Especially if they were close games.

2 losses in the SEC can still get you into a BCS title game, and it should anymore. we are the feeder system to the NFL after all.

Oh. My. God. There was one undefeated team that season, and they began the year outside the Top 20! Referencing 2007 is an absolute joke because, if the Top 10 looks anything like it did that season in terms of wins/losses and Louisville is undefeated, they will absolutely play for it all.

This coming from the guy who doesn't understand the definition of the word "competition."

I dont understand the definition of the word competition???? You might want to look at Louisvilles schedule.

Since the word in this context refers to the teams against whom Louisville is competing and says nothing of difficulty... yea. Chalk that up to yet another thing about which you're completely oblivious.

But, hey, who knows. Maybe blind faith will somehow elevate Tennessee to a position as one of the twelve best teams in the SEC this season. It's worked for Vol baseball... oh, wait.

He isn't trolling......he is 100% serious. That's why this keeps going on and on.

Thats what is so da%n funny about him. Hes trying so hard to sell Louisville football as a somebody.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:
I also love how when he disagrees with someone, he says they dont know anything about collage football- ect.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:
But yet he believes in Louisville football so much---he cant see the woods for the trees.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:
I cant believe this is type of entertainment is free.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Let's remove Louisville from the equation altogether and just look at it like this, shall we?

A team entering the season ranked in the top five has what is perceived as an easy schedule. The team plays in the least respected BCS conference, but a BCS conference nonetheless.

Said team goes undefeated with this easy schedule. However, along the way, some of the "easy" teams end up being ranked by virtue of also being undefeated against "easy" competition.

By no means am I saying that said team should necessarily play for the national championship if there are two other undefeated teams with superior schedules. I'm saying that this undefeated team, despite their schedule, will be in contention for a top-two spot in the final BCS rankings. People in this thread, conversely, are trying to argue that not only will teams that lose ranked ahead of said team to begin the season won't drop because their schedules are "harder," but that teams behind them will pass said team after accumulating multiple losses because their schedule is tougher!

It's ridiculous and not how college football works. If Tennessee loses to only Alabama, Florida and Georgia (it won't happen, trust me), they're not going to shoot up from unranked to passing an undefeated Louisville in the rankings. Stop living in a fantasy land and realize the obvious potential that an undefeated team ranked in the top ten/top five preseason has for being ranked #1/#2 at the end of the season.
