Vandies schedule has been light years weaker than UTs. Just saying. We beat SC. They beat a very depleted UGA courtesy of the Vols. We lost at the swamp because we had 6 turnovers. They won at the swamp because they got 4 turnovers against a UF team that has flat out quit. Both of us steam rolled by Missouri. They haven't played Bamer nor Oregon. Its not really apples to apples.

That said, they are probably slightly better than we are. Mostly because of Bobby Johnson's kids.

Franklin deserves more credit than this but he is under far less scrutiny than UT's coach ever would be. He didn't take the same hit from the media for backing out of the Ohio State game like Tenn did over NC from 2011. His handling of the rape scandal has also gone largely ignored which would never be the case at a traditional power. Also, the SEC East has never been this weak and there is no question that has helped significantly. Still, he is doing the most with what he has. I don't think the same thing can be said for us at the moment.

If we lose, its only because we didnt execute on D. That's enough concern for me

Cover Jordan Matthews and they are done. We have been able to run successfully this season. We out up over 100 yards rushing on Alabama. I see no problem in us running the football, controlling the clock and forcing them off of their game.

Watched replay of the Vandy/Florida game today. (Wow- dontit seem like most everyones gotta play a freshman quarterback this year?) Anyway, it was Vandy's D that won that game. 21 points off interceptions and turnovers early on forced Fla to play from behind. Destroyed them with 2 huge sacks in a row to ice the game late in the 4th.

The Vandy D was on that lizzard QB like white on rice, like flies on ****zernickel all game long.

I don't care what the quipsters say about the Vanderbilt Commodores; whether its the Candy Vandy Commode Doors or whaateeveah .....

The "best offensive line in the SEC" had better be that on game day. Seriously.

I don't get why so many UT fans have such a hard time accepting that Franklin is a good coach and has done great things at Vandy. Of course the ceiling is higher for Butch and UT long term but at this point in the season Vandy has had the better year and will be favored by Vegas to win. Get over it, there are blue skies ahead no matter what happens the rest of this year.

First off we would destroy MTSU.

Secondly we'll just have to wait and see about Vandy.

Edit: And thirdly you're just stroking Vandy fans' egos.

MTSU?

I love the Blue Raiders, but you can't seriously think Rick Stockstill is a better coach than Butch Jones.

Haha, this. Stock is a nice guy, but has shown nothing to keep me from wavering in my belief that when the Blue Raiders win, it's not because of him but in spite of him.

:puke5::puke5: :nono: Yeah , candy is such a storied program.:crazy:

An upset is when a lower ranked team beats a higher ranked team.

They will also be favored. That means the odds makers think Vandy will win.

Sorry for the bad news. Has nothing to do with tradition.

So you know how Vegas is going to set their odds before they actuall do? Interesting thoughts rain man.

Vandy hardly threw the ball against Florida and still blew them out! Everybody has double and triple covered Matthews and he hasn't been stopped yet.

U Vols fans would really hate him then. Florida would be the Bama of the East with Franklin at the helm!

OMG...please.

There's no question, Franklin is a great coach. But your statement is utterly over thought.

Please, bro. Speak to the hand.

This truth won't go over well.

These excuses are all headed your way...

UT has no talent

Not true. The Vols have talent, but it can only be found on part of the first-string and there is no one to back that up.

UT has no speed

True. Palardy is clearly one of our fastest guys. No offense to our RBs, but after watching fast, explosive running backs dominate the SEC, our guys just look like molasses. Sutton will be good, but I'm probably faster than all of our other DBs and LBs. Then again, I'm a fast guy.

CBJ should be given three presidential terms to right the ship

Ignorant point. CBJ should be given a fair amount of time. That amount will be dictated by how much we progress or digress each year.

Disregard what Auburn, Missouri, and Even Ole Miss has done in short time.

Worst point you've made. Mizzou has had stability for a while, and they've been at least a decent team for a while. Last year they were adjusting to the SEC style of play. How did TAMU excel? Johnny Football. Without him, they would have been in the same boat as Missouri. Auburn had/has tons of talent on the field, that they were able to obtain from the Malzahn-OC/Cam Newton days. Remember, they were national champs a few years ago. Finally, Ole Miss is not as solid as people seem to think. Last year they went 6-6 in the regular season with a fairly easy SEC schedule/route. Miraculou$ly, they pull the nation's #1 recruiting class, and this year they are on track to win a game or two more. Aren't we doing the same thing? (hopefully minus paying players..)

It's Dooley's fault
Kiffin too

I'll allow this. Two incompetent men that couldn't coach or evaluate talent. I think Butch is the direct opposite.
