One almost has to feel sorry for them. Kind of like a little brother who will never measure up!

I did until one of their fans jumped into one of our basketball players face at their cracker box gym. Since then, Vandy can burn in hell.

I'm glad to get Robertson but it's a bad situation for them. It's always tough when a coach jumps ship right before NSD. I remember when Kiffin did it to us. It's a tough situation and really hurts recruiting.

Of course, the irony is, when Kiffin left, it didn't really hurt our recruiting that much. We ended up with our highest ranked class in 6 years. What hurt us was hurrying and hiring an incompetent coach in order to save that recruiting class.

I have nothing but respect for what Franklin did at Vandy. We should have still beaten him like a drum. I wish he had stayed so we could realign the heavens properly.

Franklin is a great coach, and it is quite clear what he meant for that program.

To be honest, I would like the rivalry to be more competitive (even if I still want it one-sided). I wish Franklin had stayed in the SEC.

What is everyones obsession with this Vanderbilt team? Who are they and why do they deserve 15 threads on Vol-nation every day?!

Vandys 15 minutes of fame has them very arrogant these days. It's just a way to put them back in their place. Same reason why Alabama and Florida fans talk trash about us daily even though they have both beat us several years in a row.

Agree. Besides that I feel no need for schadenfreude when it comes to Vandy and when I see it on other team (certain Auburn and LSU, for example, are happier to see Bammer lose than their own team win but they're hardly alone, even a lot of Bammer's would rather see us lose than their own team win) it just comes across as sad. Sure Jimmy Frank was a douche/pr!ck but those guys are common and Kiffin was no better personality wise (one of the reasons I never warmed up to him). In fact, if what they say about Jimmy Frank is true he may be worse than Kiffin in the d-bag dept.

UT fans have plenty of laurels to rest on while the rebuild/hard times happen and they happen to every team but my focus is on us getting better and I'm excited to see that happening. Unless you're a total n00b and/or don't understand how far apart we are from other teams in terms of overall winning and so on. What brings a smile to my face tho' is we're on our way back.

Call me old school but I also like beating other teams at their best -- makes the win sweeter and with the playoffs coming it also makes it more important. I just don't 'get' hating X other team (whoever that is) more than loving your own.

I checked the radar and the cloud of "SMUG" that has been hanging over Nashville is beginning to clear! :)

Cant speak for "everyone" but for those of us living in Nashville you can blame our local media...esp Clay Travis.

I don't think those that don't live here fully understand the Vandy situation and why we locals hope they fail miserably on the football field and court.
And its amazing how quiet it has been lately, or how loud their whining is. Such a lovely sound.

Putting up with their pompous fans for the past 2 years warrants a little poking I think. They act like they're Bama, and have no idea how to handle moderate success.

Enjoying their demise in the off season is quite hysterical. Beating them by 40 points this upcoming season won't mean much though, just back to the same ole same ole.
I agree with all you said except the part about not being fun to beat them by 40 points next season. I'll love every second of that. Nothing hurts more in the gut than getting beat by Vandy 2 years in a row...something they hadn't done since 1926! It'll be nice for them to sink to the bottom where they belong!
