Vandy's Anchor falls off sinking ship, recovered by Volunteers

I have nothing but respect for what Franklin did at Vandy. We should have still beaten him like a drum. I wish he had stayed so we could realign the heavens properly.

Franklin is a great coach, and it is quite clear what he meant for that program.

To be honest, I would like the rivalry to be more competitive (even if I still want it one-sided). I wish Franklin had stayed in the SEC.

Franklin is average as a coach. Most of their success is not due to him being there.

The only reason that Vandy magically started winning was because

(1) David Williams co incidently decided to try to make a competitive team in football. In the past, they didn't put a priority on winning in football. They lowered the academic standards for athletes and they also built a new practice facility.

(2) They had an easy schedule, both non conference and S.E.C. West. When they played quality teams, they lost big time. Check out the Missouri score from this season......

(3) They took advantage of a weakened, poorly coached Tennessee team and won against Dooley. They took advantage of Tennessee being limited at q.b. this season and won. They beat an UGA team that we beat up on the previous week. They were injury ridden when Vandy played them.

I don't think those that don't live here fully understand the Vandy situation and why we locals hope they fail miserably on the football field and court.
And its amazing how quiet it has been lately, or how loud their whining is. Such a lovely sound.

Amen! Amen! And the whole congregation shouts, "AMEN"....

In 25 years, when we are on the verge of scoring a touchdown to go up by 50 points with only a minute left to go in a game that would mark our 25th straight win over Vanderbilt, someone will say "Just take a knee, we don't have to embarrass them, they're like our little brother" and I will tell them I was there back in 2012 and 2013 when the entity of the Vanderbilt fan base acted as complete pricks towards Tennessee fans, kicking us while we were down, at that point I say to that fan....we should go for 2.

What is everyones obsession with this Vanderbilt team? Who are they and why do they deserve 15 threads on Vol-nation every day?!

Fulmer obsessed about Bama and Florida until he beat them.
Dooley obsessed about Georgia, no luck there so....
CBJ obsesses about Vandy because we are 0-2 against them.

God help us should we ever obsess about Kentucky.

Someday we will obsess about Bama again, and that will be GOOD.

I LOVE IT, and Yes... Piling on is an earned thing -- and those guys have EARNED it... So it's coming... #PayBackComing in 2014 and beyond.
