Venezuela's Triumphant Socialist Paradise

Him choosing to pivot east instead of joining the failing EU was the smart decision then and now.

And what business is it of ours if they chose to move closer to Russia?

It wasn't us that overthrew him, it was his people.

True, the EU is failing but so is Russia.

Cuba denies military support for Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro as thousands gather in support of opposition leader Juan Guaido - while the U.S. demands all foreign influence, including Russia, remove itself from the political battle

President Donald Trump's national security adviser John Bolton said on Wednesday that the U.S. deems the uprising in Venezuela to be a Western affair and outside actors, including Cuban forces, must leave the South American country immediately.

Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Cuba's director-general of U.S. affairs, said in Washington that the U.S. is falsely accusing his country of having more than 20,000 troops and intelligence agents in Venezuela in support of embattled leader Nicolas Maduro.

De Cossío said there are roughly 20,000 Cubans in Venezuela but virtually all are medical workers.

Meanwhile, Bolton told White House reporters on Wednesday morning that Trump is returning to the Monroe Doctrine and will be exerting its influence to stabilize Venezuela, and to show its support of opposition leader and self-declared interim president Juan Guaido.

Docs are a cash crop for Cuba. They train them and send them out to work in other countries; Cuba gets paid.

Real news reports that Maduro disarmed the citizens to protect the children. Venezuela has the second highest murder rate, in spite of a no gun policy. Must be working, but maybe we can learn more from one of our socialists here...

Yeah the Army can read, they don't need pictures.

Australian troops ordered to avoid using slang with US Marines

Smart move. Marines have enough trouble with English as we speak it.

Navy: 200 years of tradition unimpeded by progress. Surprising they don't surface subs so they can give the command "Fire on the up roll."

For the record, has Congress declared war on Venezuela? Or where does the authorization for this come from?

Uh oh, BRANCH FIGHT!

Back in the 90's, we did SF lock-out, lock-in training with ST8 and 2nd Marine Recon. Running out of Roosevelt Roads, and working off the southwest end of Vieques Island. We'd go down there from Charleston (our homeport), and spend two or three weeks spinning up with the high-speed guys before we deployed to.....ahhh, I don't remember exactly where.

One thing I remember about the Marines is that they loved the food on subs. Those guys, bless their hearts, would eat everything in sight. At one point, the only "salad" we had left was 3-bean salad; then 2-bean salad; and then just beans with some dressing on it. We actually did a stop & go at the pier to load more food.

In return, they kept our heads spotless. Ain't nobody can wipe out a chow line, or clean a shi**er, like the Marine Corps.

Sometimes I miss those days.

Yes, we have declared war on Venezuela...and Cuba...and North Korea...and Russia...and Iran...and Iraq...and Bernie Sanders.

No time to waste, Velo...you need to hustle down to the nearest recruiting office and sign up for the military. All those wars are going to need warm, motivated, blindly-obedient Sons of Liberty to fight them.

I would say try the Coast Guard, but you've gotta be over 6 feet tall to join. That way, if one of their boats sink, you can just wade back to the beach.....

When was the last time Congress declared war Dr Phil? Maybe you can find a tweet with the answer.

Regardless he’ll catch hell from the populous if he puts boots on the ground there.
