Verizon is awful at Neyland Stadium

Verizon sends cell on wheels (cows) and mobile sites on gamedays, to bms, as well owhite game.

they may not have been alerted. or simply not seen the need for a randomlg scheduled practice to have a cell site on wheels.

it would be a worthwhile investment to put repeaters or mini cell towers in neyland as is done in hospitals, buildings with metals roofs or where a lot of electrical equipment operates (eastman), airports.

i will tell u this from experience, however not speaking on behalf of a certain company, if a certain company has an agreement with a certain school to be sole provider for its services it would stand to reason they would ensure that all its athletic functions would be up to servie expectations, especially if said companys bread and butter is its network!

us cellular is a great local provider. outside of localities it doesnt have the national reach verizon has, and has lost a ton of business as of late due to internal issues. also its customer service doesnt have the deep pockets of ol red.

it wouldnt surprise me in tbe least to see verizon devour us cellular in the next 5-6 years. same lte/cdma network infrastructure.

whats crazier is lots of places us cellular peeps get service/verizon customers cannot. and vice versa. very similar to alltel. them they got bought

There's always somebody saying this. My question is why can't I do both?

Just a generation gap. There was a time when you drove without a phone, ate dinner without a phone and yes watched a football game without a phone. Sounds crazy but take it from an old timer it's true.:loco:

That's not the issue. It wasn't available then, it is now. Apples and oranges.

People should learn to live with less technological gadgets, one day soon we all will be force to do it. It may be the sun burning our infrastructure with a giant flare, or it may be the goverment shutting it down, regardless, it may come sooner than you think.

The irony kills me. The only time I've had service problems is in Neyland. Frustrating to say the least.

Me too. I thought it was the amount of people. Until I was in the Georgia Dome at the first game last year and had great service the entire time.

Wrong. That is the issue. If you don`t have good signal just turn the damn phone off and enjoy what you went to watch. It`s not the end of the world.

If it is the end of the world to you simply get up and leave, problem solved.

I think it just gets aggravating. You have a tool you'd like to use (to post on this forum, as an example, to let others know what is happening) and you can't.

It's no different than any other convenience tool that we all use that suddenly goes on the fritz. Sure you can live without it, but it's more fun when it's working right.

I am not on my phone constantly through the game but I have friends watching from home that I text back and forth with, send them pics and videos from the stadium. AT&T is just as bad in there

I'm an old guy too, and I remember that there also used to be a time when you went to a football game and didn't have to sit through an endless series of commercials. God forbid I try to send a message to my wife about the game while I'm being marketed at.

No way the government takes away our shiny flickering distractions and allow our attention to turn to real problems.

Some of us are always on recall notice, whether we're on leave, pass or whatever. And since I work directly for my 1SG and Commander right now, they text or call me with questions all the time. There may have been a time 15 years ago when having a cell phone wasn't a must, but that time is gone now. For all the dumb talk about blue hairs getting over the uniform change, I think some blue hairs here really do need to get over the simpler times of yesterday when technology wasn't so advanced to make staying in contact with someone so readily available.

Besides, texting or sending pictures to friends isn't that big of a deal, especially when there is a break in the action every 10 minutes.
