The #1 complaint from fans the last two seasons was the poor cell coverage. Above long lines and concession prices. So I think it's a bigger issue than you think.
I don't think it's a dealbreaker for fans for the Alabama or Florida games, but I think it plays a factor for fans for games like Austin Peay and South Alabama.
Wow...I guess I'll take your word for it.
My thought process for a game like Austin Peay goes something like this: If I go, I'll be able to get a good seat...or will I, it's the season opener, people will be excited with a new coach and all...
If I stay home and have some friends over, get the grill going...
but pay per view always sucks because it's not in high def, maybe it will be this year, that's what I said last year....
What time is the game? 6PM, hmmm...
If we somehow manage to lose that game Appy St./Michigan style, how bad will I embarrass myself in public with the crude language that comes out of my mouth...
And so on it goes... until the Monday of game week when ultimately I'll ask my wife if she has any desire to go to the game. She'll say no because my son won't be able to go to bed until 10 or 11 PM and that will be that.
I'll entertain thoughts of going alone and I'll recall the MTSU game a couple of years back and the long walk back to the car at half time. Ultimately I'll wait until Saturday morning, wondering what the weather will be like and make a decision around noon, probably decide to stay home because my son and I can watch the game together, at least a half to three quarters, before his bed time.
Cell phone coverage is not an issue for me, but you've certainly opened my eyes to the issue.
