By "bad", I suppose having concerns with the mental and physical state of the team doesn't qualify?

No doubt there are concerns. If there aren't, then he's not the right coach. But when you constantly tell someone they're ugly, after long they will believe they are ugly. Now, they may be ugly but you at least bring the best qualities out of them because you can't change what you inherit. Morons like me bought into the the whole talent argument as an excuse for the previous regime. But after awhile you have to realize the person calling you ugly is just ignoring his own shortcomings.
The point is, both coaches have different styles of coach speak, after filtering all that out, I don't think either at this stage think they have/had a good team.

That's because the team is not bad and its not year zero - so give CBJ credit for telling the truth. (CDD left him good players because he could recruit - CBJ already knows that first hand since CDD's team slapped around his bearcats few years ago). However, few years from now we may be at year 0 again (if CBJ continues to finish behind Vandy in recruiting).
