Very upsetting performance & lack of execution. Out matched all over the field.

2022 was a better team. Now you’ve proved you’re just a dumbass. 2022 would have ran 2024 off the field.
Of course the 2022 team was better, but they had LESS TALENT 😂 you're missing the point call me names for no reason like a smooth brain low IQ drunk. I will post the link, go look at the talent for 2022 vs 2024 and see we have more talent now and are playing worse, just go look, you admitted we are playing worse with more talent proving my point that the coaching is the issue. https://247sports.com/Season/2024-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/

the 2022 team would be 11-1 this regular season.
They were better at every position on O except rb which is give 2024 Sampson the edge. That offense was special.

We got outplayed and out coached tonight. We got whipped at the LOS, we have to get tougher mentally and physically. We played soft tonight. And we have to address how we play coming off bye’s and layoffs. Is our approach to soft during the down time. Tennessee has a bright future but we have to become a more physical team with a killer instinct. I think we have to many cerebral guys. We need to live in the strength and conditioning room. Our wide receivers have to get better at separation. Nico has to make a big move in understanding everything and being a more consistent thrower. Our O-line has to develop a mean streak. Our team just has to let this hurt and realize what we got to do to get where we want to be. Our staff and team overall has to learn how to up their game in the big games. Most folks didn’t give us a chance at being in the playoffs this year and overall I think we slightly exceeded most expectations. I felt like we could make the playoff. I picked our regular season at 10-2 or 9-3. I do think next year we may have more talent overall, but our O-line and our D line will have to step up. And our wide receivers are going to have to improve. At this point I would open all them starting spots at WR. We gotta coach em hard, we got to motivate. Everybody has to improve. GBO

This is extremely embarrassing and something has to change. We have squeaked by all season long… 1,000 of you can say “we are 10-3, you don’t know football” “you negavols are blaaaah blah”…

We aren’t just out coached. We are out talented at every position on the field. Our WR’s and OL are dog water. We are NOT a playoff team, records are deceiving and that has been proven 3 times today. Nico gets ZERO help from the line and his receivers. He’s not given the opportunity to build confidence.

Are the underclassmen this bad? Do we really have to run out a limping squirrel white and a hurt Thornton? Brazzel is terrible. Dayne Davis and Lampley??? 😂

M. Matthews and McCoy will enter the portal before Christmas is my guess.
Yep. Starting with the coaches.

It seems like you’re admitting that Sampson (talent) matters here and then ignoring that to focus on coaching. We were using our third string RB for a lot of this game

The way we play the game is conducive to getting blown out, so I agree it’s coaching that got us blown out versus just losing gracefully. You don’t get extra points for losing by 20 and never being competitive, so might as well be risky and lose by 30. It seems obvious this game would be a loss with any coach for UT with the same roster in the same position here.
I already agreed talent does come into play its just not the biggest issue right now, for example why did we lose to Arkansas who we have significantly more talent than? The whole point I'm trying to make is why are we playing worse every year with more talent than in 2022. Maybe its because Josh was playing with other peoples players who they developed, but now with his players who are rated higher, they are playing worse.

As much as I like Heup, I don’t see any reason to believe that he is a championship coach. We’ve had some great wins under him, no doubt. And Tennessee football is the best it has been since Fulmer. Keep things the way they are, don’t make any staff changes, don’t change your approach to player development, don’t change your approach to recruiting, just keep doing the same thing over and over every season, and we’re looking at a ceiling of 10 wins and two losses every season. We will remain a second-tier college football program.

And yes, we most certainly are a second-tier program right now, in my opinion. Good but not great and certainly not a championship contender.

Wrong we have more talent now, if you're going to say talent matters, then ignore the numbers when it comes to 2022 Tennessee vs 2024 then I cant take you seriously. The truth is Josh or people on his staff are not developing the players we have, if you have more talent and play worse that's a coaching issue, changes need to be made, New OC, New OL coach, and New WR's and DB's coach possibly.

Bingo! You nailed it. The issue with being an elite coach is most of the time you have to be a scumbag, you have to be cut throat with your staff and players, Josh is not built with that mind set like Kirby, he is to forgiving and nice.

Why are you deep throating Josh? Did you not watch the games this year when we lost to a bad Arkansas team? Nearly lost to Florida? We played poorly in nearly every SEC game. We have looked worse or the same every year now since 2022, WITH more Talent! Why is that? It has to be coaching. You think doing a RB pitch on 3 and 7 to come out at the half was a good call? Do you think the inability to run the ball without Sampson might have something to do with bad OL coaching? Do you think that inability to get open down field might come down to poor WR development? Nah its just a talent gap, that's why our 2022 team with LESS talent was better than this one.
Falls back on the head coach. He hired these other coaches. Defense was getting blown off the line.

Hopefully, we can get cornbread back next year. You know since going 10-3 is pissing you guys off so bad. Maybe we can go 3-9 next year just so you can be happy. 45-0 in the swamp and 62-0 in Tuscaloosa. We can have happy days back again.

I am not upset. I knew we would lose. I didn’t expect to get blown out like this. But this is what happens when you have a team that has VASTLY more talent than the other. It is what it is.

The Vols just could not match the speed of tOSU WRs neither with our linebackers or corners and apparently the vols have no answer or can’t adjust to all the motion the buckeyes used that they picked up on from the game with GA.

Coaches pick and coach the players. If they end up being crappy for whatever reason ultimately that is on the coaches.

Bingo. And it’s not really being a scumbag to have expectations of your players and coaching. Huepel won’t make any changes this offseason to the problem coaches and we will see the same problems next year.
