Vescovi foot speed kills tennessee

Yes most days he has a reliable set shot as a spot up shooter. He is limited in his ability to penetrate as a guard or lead a break. Not saying he doesn’t do some good things or have nights where he is a decent scorer. Just struggles to defend most teams 1 or 2 due to lack of mobility. Same as last season. Just an opinion of one fan. Not saying he doesn’t bring some positives as well.

The positive would be he is the second leading scorer on the team and we would be crap without him.

Vescovi footspeed is a liability on both ends of the floor. Barnes loves him but can not defend
He had a poor shooting night but he’s not the issue, the issue is Barnes hasn’t recruited and kept a good big man on the roster that can get you a bucket in the paint when you’re not hitting shots from 3. Fulky has never lifted enough weights to be a difference maker in a physical game like this one was

Well….this ‘evaluation’ of his game shows how limited your b-ball IQ is. Thanks for making it so obvious for us.

Between this game and Villanova, it appears if you shut Chandler down, you shut the whole team down.

We will go only as far as Chandler will take us. That may be problematic since our next opponents will be backing 3 into the
lane to keep Chandler from penetrating, like TT did tonight.

You obviously don't know much about what we need, or basketball as a whole. He is one of the top rebounders as well as a great assist man when they catch the ball.

Yep... That MUST'VE been the problem. We're all better because of your insights.

P.S. Not trying to be a d!@K, but seriously.... this is your takeaway?

Tech wins by making the game ugly. That's their thing.

Agree with this take and they had the correct refs for that scenario and UT has been flying around the country for a week. That will affect people differently. It was a perfect storm and when you lose your legs your outside shot is about the 1st thing to go. Not making excuses but just hoping this was the case and it was an anomaly.

With any luck we will get them back for y'all in conference play but I really don't expect any difference in Tech's ability to murk things up for at least two more years. Dead legs really does effect the way a team can shoot the ball. In the championship game of the Battle for Atlantis one one three went in and it wasn't because of lack of trying.

It is almost funny that fans think there is something players do or don’t do that “causes” these total collapses. Barnes allows players to take the 3 in games that can make the 3 consistently in practice. That work in practice is against tons of different scenarios. These guys literally take 100’s of shots a week. It just wasn’t falling and we couldn’t get decent shots at the rim.

Dead legs will make those shots fall short. It happens, I've been there.

Exactly. The travel and quick turn around seems to be ignored by some. Kids were gassed but fought hard. Loss won't hurt us and we will be more prepared for physical teams and tournament play because of it.

THAT was an awful display from a very talented team. Brick after brick......... Tech did play some defense, SO RB better keep that in Mind. Just when you buy in------typical UT.

Whether you like Vescovi or not, he's critical to the success of this team, imo. We are at our best when he's on the floor and playing well at the shooting guard spot. Him picking up 2 fouls in the first half of the last 2 games hampered us in both games. Say what you will about him, but he does appear to be one of the few guys on the team that isn't afraid of big games.
