Was just curious.Love Santi but he's no where near as athletic as Reed plus he's 4 years older.
It’s hard to say. I loved living in chile but their communist president is disrupting what is currently the best economy in South America, probably won’t be for long.Which one of your favorite?
Sheppard has a reeeeeally high floor, but I don’t know that I could stand up straight in the room because his ceiling is pretty close to his floor. JMO.Was just curious.
He’s smaller in every measurement category other than the vertical.
Vescovi’s last two years are just as good as Reed’s first. Again, I get it, he’s a freshman.
50% shooting vs 40%, Vescovi averaged 3 shots more per game both of those seasons.
All I’m saying is, I personally don’t see it with Shep.
The John Prine song reference is still half-(maybe two-thirds) serious. It's a good time for a young couple to invest in some self-sufficiency, and the southern hemisphere might be the better half of the world in which to do that.
Dig a little and you'll find that Europe and the US are moving onto war footing. Finland's new president has expressed interest in staging nuclear weapons in his country for the first time. Sweden's legislature is debating an offer to the US military that would give our military full access to their military bases with the option for the US to own those bases after two years!
The national debt requires some kind of reset. The western central banks (BIS, Fed, London) would always prefer an economy where they have control (risk management) rather than having to work around democratic unpredictables, and technocracy now offers that. Historically, the best ways to reset an economy are war and/or depression. The U.S. has maintained control of most of the world by holding countries in debt traps (since WW2), but now we're in our own debt trap.
I'll shut up instead of going into a diatribe. Enjoy some prime Prine...
It looks like those players are paid after tax and the teams pay the tax for them. Uncle Sam gets his hands in everybody's pockets whether they know it or not.I know people that played in Turkey, Greece and Israel. They didn’t pay US taxes. They have to repatriate the money a little at a time
But there is a system set up for it.

In terms of the lifestyle closest to what we have in America or in wealthier European nations, Uruguay. Great economy but very small country, 5 million people if I remember correctly. They have the best leadership in government in the Americas imo.
In terms of women, it’s colombia and it’s not even close. If any of you are divorced/single and feeling lonely, go to colombia for a few weeks and you’ll fall in love (probably 5x per day) and they’re the sweetest, kindest, most fun-seeking girls on the planet in my estimation . Lol.
Did you make it to Colonia del Sacramento? Took the ferry from BA across the river. One of our favorite places anywhere.
Agree about Argentina but geez i loved the prices there.
If you’re looking for a wild party, Brazil. I didn’t live there really, but I was there for 3 months consulting for a cannabis company.. CBD from hemp, as thc is still illegal there.
If you’re ever this far South let me know and I’ll buy you a beer.
Edit: I left out Argentina. It’s a **** show economically, the girls are pretty but the country as a whole is pretty arrogant and condescending toward its neighbors. Wasn’t my cup of tea. They think they’re European but their economy is headed toward Central America level ****.
Where did you play? If you don't want to say, what level?Sheppard has a reeeeeally high floor, but I don’t know that I could stand up straight in the room because his ceiling is pretty close to his floor. JMO.
Of course I thought Freddy Dillione would be our leading scorer this past year lol, I’m proof that playing the sport at a (somewhat) high level doesn’t make you a good coach or scout.
Thats the gamble on potential. but the NBA is cutthroat on it and they usually end up correct. You can be a 19 year old one and done and average 6 points a game and go first round. If you're 22 and average 20 you could go undrafted. Each year past 18 is like a nail in the coffin because in their heads you have already ingrained habits they don't want (college). It might not seem like a huge amount but 3 years is forever in NBA draft time. Think about this (not my idea totally kind of got it from something Gilbert Arenas brought up on a pod) Anthony Edwards is 22 that's who NBA execs are comparing Santi to he is in that class. edwards has already been in the NBA 4 years is a 2 time all-star and 1 time all NBA. That is what they are hoping for with Reed.Sheppard has a reeeeeally high floor, but I don’t know that I could stand up straight in the room because his ceiling is pretty close to his floor. JMO.

With a 39” vert, Dalton is absolutely a freak. And he’s not undersized either. He’s he’s the same height as Anthony Edwards, and Edwards, who anyone would consider a freak, has just 1” more on his vert than DK.Thats the gamble on potential. but the NBA is cutthroat on it and they usually end up correct. Now Anthony Edwards is not the norm but its more likely you get that outcome from a 18-19 year old than a 22+ year old. There are exceptions to the rule and I think Zach Edey might end up being one. Because, he only started playing basketball in the 10th grade at like 16 while most of these other guys have been playing since they were elementary to middle school age. He is still just learning the game which shows in his Giannis like progression in college. He literally got better in all aspects each year and never hit a plateau. He is the rare case of an older guy with a crazy high ceiling. Imagine is he develops a 3-point shot (which he demonstrated at the combine and in his college free throw shooting). Santi has been playing basketball at a high level for a long time he came to UT via the NBA Academy he played for the national team since at least 2016. To an NBA team he's pretty much a finished product. He is also 6'3 and not a point guard. He, much like Knecht, is tweener size. Santi is small for a 2 guard and a bit slow for a point (by prototypical NBA standards) Knecht same story to a much lesser extent. He (Knecht) is not a freak but he is above-average athletic period by any metric.
I honestly think that Knecht will be a good player in the NBA, Shepperd will probably end up better at 22 and 23 than Knecht and Vescovi were at that age. Vescovi and JJ's chances chances of making a roster are kinda slim theyd both be 3 and d players but Vescovi is limited in the number of positions he can guard. Too small for most 3's and not quick enough for most points. JJJ is less limited defensively but where does he fit on offense?
lmfao a 39" vertical is not freakish in the NBA its very good. When you hit that 42" range you start to separate yourself. You know who else had a 39" vertical Rex Chapman. If you're under 6'8" 40 is really good but a lot more attainable as bigger guys have a lot more mass to lift. Shawn Kemp and Larry Nance at 40" is crazy because they were 6'8-6'10. also there are 2 different verticals standing and max.. DK's standing vertical was 31" this is important for things like rebounding. His max vert was 39" which is great for dunking. The most impressive stat that Knecht put up athletically in the combine was neither of those it was his Shuttle and Lane Agility. The dude is a great athlete for sure but he is not a freak. his problems come in his Anthro stats where he is average to below average for his position(s) SG(SF)With a 39” vert, Dalton is absolutely a freak. His standing vert is more than 2 zscores above the nba average. Laugh your ass off all you want. Lol.lmfao a 39" vertical is not freakish in the NBA its very good.
