Here is a pretty good study regarding height and success in MLB: Should Short Pitchers Still Get Short Shrift? – The Hardball Times

This doesn't mention anything about speed but pretty interesting that the shorter pitchers actually have the lowest ERA.

Great stuff ZP. I know that a bunch of guys wont get excited until a 6'+ stud is shoving in the 90's, but the reality is that equation doesn't always work. If the ball doesn't have movement, its just going over the fence faster. I heard very wise coach say "a small frame guy has to prove he can pitch and a big frame guy has to prove he can't". Cheers to Neely and all the Vol Pitchers. Keep carving up the donkeys at any height and any speed!

Great signing for the Braves and he will have Phil "Knusckie" Niekro nearby if he needs some help with the knuckleball. I have followed the Braves since the days of Aaron, Office, Baker, Niekro, etc. and I am excited to see what 2017 will bring with the opening of Sun Trust Park.

Nick Senzel went 2-4 with a run scored on opening night for the Daytona Tortugas.

Just FYI... For anyone that wants to follow minor league teams and/or players, there is a minor league app that is similar to MLB At Bat. Give MiLB First Pitch a try. It's free and has schedules, box scores, statistics and much more.

AJ Simcox was the only player in the Tigers organization moved from high A to AA this year. Starting at SS for the Erie SeaWolves and batting about .270 right now.
