Video exposes (now former) Rutgers' coach Mike Rice berating players at practice

Yes. I dont understand why none of the players kicked the coach's ***. Do you?

Yes, I completely understand it. They obviously felt they had to stick with the way things were or else they thought they would lose what they have.

I see that too and that's a major problem. I still don't understand why no one kicked his ***.

you have issues.

Issues? HA. I just watched the video a second time. I see less than I thought I did. The world has issues with casting stones. Watch it again. CAREFULLY! If you are not a sheep, maybe you will see what I am talking about.

Look at the Ed Rush situation. Andy Katz reports that the officials were afraid to say anything about Rush because they might not be allowed to officiate which would cost them wages...these are grown men who felt intimidated and all Ed Rush did was offer them money or a trip to "T" up a coach or throw a boxed lunch up against the wall.

The players were much more likely to transfer out, sit a whole year and resume their careers than to say anything or kick the coach's a$$.

Comparing officials to players is laughable at best.

Why? Both were intimidated, no? Neither wanted a confrontation, nor did they want to tell anyone in a position of power to help remedy the situation.

What is the same is that both people in charge determined that neither the coach or the head official had done anything that would rise to the level deserving of a firing.

Both were fired anyway, despite their supervisors best efforts to sweep things under the rug.

If a grown man with a family won't stand up to bullying, why do you think a college student would?

Is this an illuminati comment?

This is the goofiest thing I've ever heard. Refs know exactly what they are getting into when they sign up.

Also, show me a ref getting kicked in the *** during a Monday morning practice.

So they knew the PAC 12 head of officiating was going to say "I'll give one of you x-amount of dollars or a trip to somewhere if you give coach so and so a technical"...Or they knew their boss was going to come into the room and throw a lunch across the room, maybe a chair for good measure, and tell them how they suck at their jobs. You mean, that's what they signed up for?

The problem I have most with this video is him throwing the ball at somebody point blank. Pushing aye, but throwing the ball at somebody is like throwing a punch.

I feel like society is raising a bunch of babies for life though with some of the stuff that is reported these days.

Certainly not. I misunderstood your reference.

Let me get this straight. You're saying that the head of an officiating crew telling his officials to cheat, can be compared to a maniac coach continuosly dragging his players across the court? It's fine if you think that. I just happen to disagree.

I'm saying both situations are terribly wrong. I'm saying both the coach and the head of the officiating crew should have been fired and that the coach and the head of officials had a supervisor, an AD and the PAC 12 Commish, who tried as hard as they could to look the other way. I'm saying both the officials and players were victims. Apologies if I took what you were trying to say in the wrong way.

No problem vol66. I know very little about either story but I agree that they are both terribly wrong.

I don't need to watch it again. I stand by what I said, you have issues if you believe what this coach did to his players is/was ok.

After seeing the assistant coach video of him charging in and nearly taking a swing at a player, that was indefensible. At the time I had not seen that part. However, the clips of Rice are inconclusive, IMO. They were clipped together to have a desired effect. Am I saying Rice is not a hothead, and he is not a jerk? No. All I am saying is without hearing statements from players, I don't jump up and down and act outraged until all the evidence is gathered. If that means I have issues in your pathetic eyes, so be it. At least I am not a sheep.

Woody Hayes comes to mind. Something tells me this kind of stuff goes on quite a bit, it's just not publicized and is probably a fading trend of the past

This, I understand aggressive coaching but what this guy did was way past the limits..if that makes me a sheep so be it.
