Video exposes (now former) Rutgers' coach Mike Rice berating players at practice

Not trying to compare the size of an object thrown.

Uhhh, what?

Then what's the point of making your comment? A single MRE is flimsy, lightweight and rather soft. A box of MREs is a heavy box that is firm and 12 times heavier than a single MRE. There's no need to compare the two. It certainly seems as if you misread and thought I simply said an MRE. Otherwise, your entire post is pointless.

MRE????

Men Racing Elephants?
Mexicans Rallying Emphatically?
Menstruation Really Exhausting?

My HS coach hated our best player and his national attention. He told him to get off the court one day at practice. Coach grabbed the ball and hummed it at him after he said something back to the coach. He was 6'6 and played for the Knicks. My teammate sees it coming, jukes his head to dodge it and the ball going about 50mph hits a skinny sophomore sqaure in the nose and everybody within 5 feet had blood shrapnel from the nose explosion.

I'm sorry, but I laughed.

I agree, someone got pissed off here. If you behave like this, you don't tape it, that's for damn sure.

I've had coaches cuss me, I've seen players get thrown around in practices some, and the response to that was simple. The kid that got touched looked the coach in the face, flipped him off, and walked out. And had it come to blows we would've sided with the player. It didn't help that we were all 18, and the coach was only 24 at the time.

Like has already been said, if you think he's the only one, you are insane. He's just the one who had a viral video quality tape released of him over several years doing something.

But, I also agree that we are pussifying our country at this point. I was part of the last group of kids who had to actually win a championship (or at least finish top 3 or 4) to get a trophy. My father grew up in a time where coaches would spit tobacco juice on you and that would be a good day. We are slowly raising a generation of self entitled idiots who think they world is theirs and can't take a single negative thing that comes their way, and some of them are 18 and 19 years old now. It's terrifying to think that, though we have access to infinite knowledge now, we are raising idiots and people who are not very tough at all. I guess Einstein was right once again.

so what you're staying is einstein needed to spit tobacco in the face of children more often

You are absolutely right. There is no grey area between letting coaches beat the crap out of you and not being able to take a single negative thing that comes your way. Either you let people beat the crap out of you when you are young, and then beat the crap out of kids yourself when you get older, or the whole country is doomed. Yep.

Every kids a winner and every kids gets a trophy.

How do you get "the unnecessary physical assailing of others is wrong" to entail "every kid deserves a trophy"?

The latter is not entailed by the former. You are simply a jackass in a corner.
