We girls can still outshoot him...any time, any place, any firearm.

This I have no doubt.

When I was teaching my daughter how to shoot I was shocked how quickly she took to it, she was deadly accurate. After an hour or so she asked me if she could do it left handed, turns out she is left eye dominant and was even better left handed.

Good job only reading half of what I've written and totally whiffing on my actual stance. There seems to be a pernicious illness here that causes people to automatically assume liberal status upon any disagreement. Interesting.

Here's the fullness of my stance. I look forward to the coming evisceration:
You want guns? Have at them.
You want ammo? Have at it.
You want to gift guns and ammo? That's your call so long as the recipient passes their background check.
Universal background checks for all purchases.
History of documented self harm, convicted domestic abuse, or convicted felony behavior involving a weapon? Sorry, you're off the list.
Increased penalties for an individual's weapon being used in another person's commission of a crime or fatal accident - gun safe home insurance riders, consider increase in penalty from misdemeanor to felony.
More publicization / appreciation of and funding for police and government task forces getting guns out of criminal hands and locating and shutting down the pipelines supplying them.
NRA, 4H, and Scouting double down on positive outreach to children and teens, greater access to training classes and sport shooting opportunities.

See? I'm not your standard anything. I don't fit any mold. In this case, I especially don't fit the left mold.

About that gifting... if I buy my daughter a gun for Christmas, I passed the BGC and the gun is listed on my form. If she did something dumb with it, it traces back to me.

If I only offer to pay for what she picks out, she passes that BGC and it’s now all on her.

My wife doesn't shoot often, no formal training, but when she does shoot, she's dang good. She wanted her own gun so I got her a 380. I got her a Bersa with the double stack mag thinking at least she could at least throw a lot of lead down range in the general direction of an intruder. She's dang good with it. Right out of the box first time wearing out a paper plate from 20 yards.

I have bought tons of firarms from friends that originally bought them. Once you sell it or give it away it’s not on you what they do with it .

Edit : I should say depending on state . California, it does . Tennessee and MS it doesn’t . Bill of sale clears you . It’s up to her to register it or not .

My wife is pretty handy with a firearm also. She had never fired a shot before we went out, and took to it right away. The two of us took our real estate lady out to shoot, and she fired a gun for the first time in her life at age 50. She did very well also, and now has a carry permit.

Thanks. Right out of the gate he demonstrates that he knows **** about the subject and/or is pandering to those that know **** about it. Either way he is not eligible for my vote.

Expand background checks to apply to all gun sales, including sales from unlicensed sellers at gun shows or online. We need to make sure anyone who owns or carries a gun is responsible and does not pose a threat to themselves or others. We also need background checks everywhere guns are purchased—including on transactions conducted over the internet and at gun shows, with reasonable exceptions for immediate family members, law enforcement, and emergency self defense.

My wife is ok with a long gun, handgun no so much. She was good enough to pass the CCL test but that's not saying much.

Do you mean I can't just order a case of AR15s from Joe Bob guns on the internet?

My wife's handgun weapon of choice is a .22 Magnum S&W revolver, or her S&W .22 Kit Gun revolver. For a long gun, she likes her Rossi pump .22, or her CZ Scout bolt action .22, which is a youth gun. She isn't a fan of recoil.

Mine either, she loves shooting (and isn't bad) one of my Ruger 10/22s and is decent with the Walther P22 and Ruger SR22.

Of course this was all before they were lost in the flood.

Any gun show I've ever been to has only had licensed FFL sellers and before you walked out with your new firearm, you had to get a BGC. I didn't see any "loophole" sales occurring in the parking lot either.

Sure you can, if you have them sent to an FFL.
You mean I have to pass one of them thar background checks? What about them machine guns? I want one of them hush puppies you put on the end too, you know the ones where you can shoot in church during the silent prayer and no one knows.

I've been to gun shows and conducted private party sales before. It's not uncommon.

You're probably right, girls are good shots in general. Don't let Joe talk down to you.

I took Competitive Riflery as one of my electives in college. First week we did a test and I was the highest score by a mile. By the final, two girls from Murfreesboro who had never seen a rifle before the class finished ahead of me and my score was solidly improved from week one. The instructor, who coached the Riflery team, said that was pretty typical. In general, women definitely have steadier hand eye coordination.

I've seen private sellers inside and outside gun shows, I think a lot of them have stopped allowing private sales inside.

A few years ago there was a bill that would allow people to do a BGC when they went into a gun show, couldn't get in without one. It would have ensured everyone making a purchase inside a show had went through a BGC regardless of who the seller was. The Dems killed it in committee. It's just another show that they DGAF about BGCs, they want the ability to confiscate.
