Vitale: SEC 5th best Conference

Or he could change his name to anything else that would be funny following his first name.

So do you agree or disagree with the ranking?

Outside KY and Tennessee the SEC is down once again. I can't argue with his rankings, just dont see the SEC ahead of any of those leagues.

Ole Miss should be pretty good and Mississippi state could be a top 16 seed if the NCAA actually clears Sidney.

Vitale is a schill for big name programs like wherever Rick Pitino is, Duke, UNC, UCLA so I'm not shocked that he would dismiss the SEC as a mid-pack conference. Personally, I would say we are closer to #3 or #4, we have some good teams at the top, but the Mississippi State loss hurt the conferences national perception and the teams past the top 3 or 4 are shaky at best.

Which conferences on that list should be ranked lower than the SEC?

Vandy, South Carolina (D. Downey), Vols, Kensucky, Florida all should make the NCAA's. Much better league this year then last. Not as bad as you make it out.

Mississippi St. and Ole Miss are better than three of the teams you mentioned.

The SEC East is NOT going to put 5 teams in the tourney.

Barring injuries (Ole Miss is dancing without the litany of injuries they had last year) here is what most pundits are agreeing on.

In: UT, UK
Likely: VU, Ole Miss, MSU (If Sidney plays, they're in)
Bubble: USC, UF, Bama (see if Gottfried's talent starts to show)

However, if Sidney doesn't play, it looks like they are going to be very mediocre judging by the game against Rider. It wasn't even close. So, Sidney is going to have to make a huge difference to get that crew to the 'AAs unless there is vast improvement.

Dickey V's charm wears off fast. As usual he's probably going to be a shill for Duke this year. And when he's not being a shill for Duke, then he'll be a shill for UNC. If not UNC then any other team in the ACC. This guy is past his prime.

Tennessee is pretty strong and Kentucky always has a strong team. With John Calipari there now they should be good. Other than that, I'm not sure. I think the SEC should be ranked higher than fifth though.

South Carolina is very good. watch out for them. They are very deep and tough, darrin horn will coach them very well. If Miss State can get sidney cleared they will be just as good. Plus, dont count out Florida, with Boynton they will be extremely tough, donovan knows how to coach.
