Came across as a good person on here...unless you criticized the Chief's tenure at UT...not surprised that he was a strong family man...thanks for the link...I'll give what I can

I am so terribly sad to hear this. God bless this man and his family. The charitable gift I give this Christmas season will be a donation to his family. Please Volnation, if you can afford to send them 10 dollars or so please do... We need to be Volunteers right now.

Most of us are truly good individuals, there is no point to name calling on here.

Folks aren't going to agree on everything , and the discussion should never rise to the level of name calling.

Sad news. A day closer to the resurrection hope. Maybe that can help the family cope. (John 5:28&29) (Revelation 21:3&4)

As I posted in the Recruiting Forum I knew Rubin from not only Youth Powell Football, but his family lives in the same subdivision as mine and our kids are friends. He left behind 3 young boys who are heartbroken about losing their best friend. Rubin's wife is not only dealing with the death of her life long partner (they dated since high school), but paying for a funeral and providing for her kids.

Rubin had worked 14 days straight at a job he took just to put Christmas presents under the tree for his family. That tells you all we need to know about his character. I will miss him.

I guess my point is if you can give anything no matter how small to the fund please do. This is a family in need of not only financial support but emotional support. Please Vol Nation help them carry the burden on the financial side.

I am a personal friend as well. He loved him some Vols and Volnation. My heart is bleeding today for his wife and kids. I'm sorry that others here didn't have the privilege to know him. He was truly a great guy.

I encourage everyone to help Rubin complete his mission of making this Christmas special for his wife and children. I am confident that Volnation will step up... because that's what we do.

Exactly, we all realized today that we are a community, as well as a family. This is what being a volunteer is all about.

My heart goes out to this family. I have a wife and a 9 month old son that I can't wait to get home and hold. It's fun to disagree with all of you guys on here but this really puts things into perspective. Hug your family every day.

Sorry for your loss. Like others, I honestly felt a knot in my stomach when I saw the first post, and I didn't even know the guy, so I know it's rough for you now, to say the least.

I'm 28 now, and if I lost my dad suddenly, I'd be all kinds of torn up. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to be just a boy and have to deal with the sudden death of my dad.

If you have any money to spare, please consider donating it to the family. No amount of $ can replace their husband and father, but we can at least help give them the opportunity to grieve properly, free from having to worry about any financial burden. If you normally go out on the weekend, I ask you to consider staying in one night, or maybe even buying just one less drink, and giving that money to this family. Even if it's just $5, it adds up quick. Let's step up as VolNation and support this VolNation family in their time of need.

The stated goal on the gofundme.com page is $1,500. After 2 hours of being set up, only $150 more is needed to reach that goal. Let's shatter that goal and show them VolNation takes care of their own. If you can spare $1, donate $1. Any amount helps.

This was RichRollin's final message on VN. In case you didn't hear he was killed in a car wreck last night. We need to pray for his wife and kids, and also let's all remember to praise the Lord for every day we are alive. None of us know when we will be writing our final message, so to speak, so live your life to the fullest and be the best person you can be.

Go Vols!

OP can you edit your post to show where VOLNATION can help his family. (If you read his past posts, you know he was working over many hours to buy Christmas for his family)

Puts things in perspective for us doesn't it. We spend so much of our lives on the internet and this site especially, agreeing and disagreeing and joking around in a mostly anonymous, impersonal way, yet when something like this happens it drives home the fact that it's the personal relationships in our lives that make it worth living. UT sports was obviously important to him but If he could send us a message, I feel sure he would say get off and go tell your loved ones how much they mean to you cause it might be your last chance. God Bless his family. Taken from them much too soon.
