Conservatives aren't conservative. They're privileged fascists pretending to be Christians and benevolent people. Black conservatives are groveling puppets, as Malcom X described. Kind of like the Native American scouts of yore, who helped hunt down and kill or confine their people to ghettos (Indian reservations).

Wow. What a sad and discouraging way to view things.
I would ask which party has actually helped African Americans the most; especially considering that the party of the Confederacy, the KKK, and Jim Crow wasn’t exactly the Republicans. And before you are temped to throw out the whole silly “the parties changed sides after LBJ” nonsense, I will ask a further question. SINCE LBJ, exactly how much actual good has the Democrat party done for African Americans? It appears to me that the places where they have things the worst are the exact same places totally controlled by the Democrats for the last 60 years. When do all of the purported well intentioned policies of the left finally make things better? Should we give them another 60 years to hopefully figure out workable and effective policies. And man; that whole defund the police and going soft on criminals in the big cities sure has worked WONDERS for quality of life hasn’t it? </sarcasm>

The Southern Democrats of yesteryear, had a long history of racism and bigotry. In due time, and out of spite, went over to and took over the Republican Party after the Civil Rights and other equal rights were affirmed into law. In essence, Republicans morphed into Southern Democrats ideology speaking. And claimed to be conservatives. Republicans were once really the party of the people. Now, they are mostly bigots, hatemongers, racists, and try to hide it under the false mask of MAGA. Which means to revert America back to its old White privilege only and Jim Crowism. Learn your country's history instead of its myths. As far as African-Americans, neither party is to be trusted. Current Republicans are explicit in the bias and hypocrisy, Democrats speak with a forked tongue, they mouth one thing, do another or nothing at all. Black conservatives, therefore, are exactly what Malcom X said they are. Making them very much like the Native American scouts of the past, who helped kill and subjugate their own people. What's sad is it is the SAD truth.

We seem to operating under diametrically opposed interpretations of US History. You allude to a belief that I need to study my country’s history, probably not knowing my own personal experience.
I actually lived through the supposed „switch“ of the parties to which you allude and I can assure you based on lived experience that THAT is one of the myths of which you speak. The only thing that changed was that the Democrats around 1968 made a conscious decision to go after the African American vote in a blatantly cynical power play that had nothing to do with the actual welfare of African Americans. Diabolically, it actually helped the Democrats to perversely keep them in poverty and dependence on government largesse to ensure their continued loyalty.
The Republicans have remained constant (at least verbally) in their efforts to help minorities help themselves by supporting economic growth in those communities instead of relying on government handouts that merely maintain and make permanent the misery and despair of the very people they purportedly wish to help.
But something tells me you probably totally reject this interpretation of events; so neither of us is likely to convince the other.
It does encourage me that both of us seem to think NEITHER party is really helping at the moment; regardless of their stated intentions.
Unfortunately the current rancor between the parties makes it ever less likely that anything will improve anytime soon.
I still operate under the stated belief of MLK Jr that we have to start judging people by character instead of by the color of their skin.
Sadly Critical Race Theory has made that belief itself apparently now to be considered racist. I think we are actually going backwards now and undoing any gains we made during the civil rights movement. Bot parties appear to have come to the realization that division is more profitable to their donations and to motivating their voters than any actual reconciliation. This is yet another reason I believe that we need a spiritual solution in this nation much more than a political one.
Politics divides. Christ unites and teaches true empathy.
