VN's very own political meme thread...

Sure.

The difference here is that the Governor specifically asked Obama not to come, which before this got redirected into Bush/Katrina, was the point.

The idiotic narrative being foisted is that Obama "doesn't care", it is as stupid a position as the pundits made that piled on Bush. My recollection was how terrible FEMA was in the wake of the disaster; thanks for the links - while not surprising it is funny how things come full circle.

But whatever.

Bush got ripped for the way FEMA responded to the last flood, even in this thread.

How much time or effort do yoi think Obama has spent making sure FEMA was ready for this flood, or any other disaster? Link?

I would bet my left nut that obama has spent exactly the same amount of time on FEMA.ZERO. none. He doesnt even take most of his security briefings about the dangers of the world, while we have soldiers in hot spots all over the globe.

Where is the outrage? Where is kanye saying that he hates black people? Wwhere is all the blame that should last about a decade, or the next 2 full terms? Surely there is some consistency? Right?

The response from the federal government has apparently been positive according to local and state officials. What outrage are you suggesting there be? Over what? FEMA is apparently doing it's job.

Your attempt at ginning some sort of controversy is as transparent as those who are ignoring why the POTUS didn't rush into the disaster area. The only whining that's going on is because Obama didn't beat Trump to the photo op, had he - he'd have been accused of beating Trump to the photo op.

You do realize that the La. Governor asked Obama specifically NOT to come right away, right? The Gov wants all resources to be dedicated to ongoing rescue and relief. Presidential visits are terribly disruptive to small communities, I can only imagine how a visit would impact a disaster area struggling to keep up. Was that not reported on shoebat.com?

Trump on the other hand, never consulted with state officials on his visit - the photo op was just that, an opportunity to get some cheap publicity.

Perspective and facts can be pesky...

Sorry to derail your meme driven narrative.
GWB said that that was why he didn't go to LA after Katrina, yet the leftards vilified him for that decision. At least HE wasn't playing golf though.

Hmmmm, I think he was vilified for flying over it. Not visiting it. Also he was vilified over the absolutely s**t response by FEMA.

But whatever.
Yet Ray Nagin got a pass. Which one is in prison again for stealing funds?

If that's a fact, then it was as shi**y then as it is now to vilify Obama.

At what point does the tit for tat stop? Both sides claim the high road, yet no one ever takes it.

Bush was there although not on the ground because HE said he didn't want to occupy valuable resources in protecting him rather than going to those that needed them. Where is the idiot king? 19th hole? Huge difference, but not surprising that you don't see it.

The left vilifies Bush, but now that the opportunity to do a better job has presented itself, your idiot has failed yet again.

Exactly. The governor not only told him not to come, but refused to make it a federal response until it was too late. Neighboring states did not, and didnt suffer as much due to it. Same guys that rip Bush now defend Obama for what is exactly the same circumstances.

What argument are you having and with whom? You replied to me, but you seem to be having a different conversation. Sigh, it's like herding cats in here, no one can seem to stay focused.

69, quick - post another obamas fault flood meme. Sorry to interrupt the circle jerk.

Oh Septic, perhaps you should learn to not argue when you are wrong...

CNN.com - Transcripts

KING: Have you spoken to your friend, the president?

BARBOUR: I have. The president has called me three times, actually. In fact, the president kept chomping at the bit to come down here. I asked him to please wait. I heard Governor Blanco. We have some of the same problems. The telecommunications infrastructure is totally destroyed. We have no electricity. So therefore, we don't have any hot water. Just the basics are not there.

Which was Mississippi, however, Governor Kathleen Blanco on the same matter:

KING: Governor Barbour said that the president wanted to visit Mississippi, he told him not to come. Does he want to come to Louisiana?

BLANCO: Well, I've been in touch with the president. He's called often before the storm and after the storm. I know he's helping Haley. He's helping Louisiana. He's helping Mississippi. We're in desperate need. I've never seen anything like this. We've seen lots of hurricanes on this coastline here in Louisiana and Mississippi. We've got a lot of friends al along the coast, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

We know what it's like, but this is not a normal hurricane experience. I've never witnessed anything like this.

KING: This would not be a good time for the president to come?

BLANCO: You know, he may come for a helicopter tour. You have a hard time landing in any, you know, maybe one or two places you can actually land, but, you know, I think it would be important for him to see firsthand, although I think the video is powerful, you know, what we're seeing on television is powerful. It's just the magnitude.

Dated August 30th, 2005. Barbour says don't come, Blanco won't commit to saying yes or no.

So please just STFU and stop arguing.

Read slower. It's not that hard. You just don't like the truth that is the failure of Obama.

.... for what is exactly the same circumstances.

A. It's not the same unless Blanco specifically asked Bush not to come.

B. Do you not see the irony in it being "wrong" then, but "right" now?

3rd. No one here "ripped" Bush for anything. It's just hilarious to watch the usual suspects predictably try and justify bad behavior.

Did you just fail to make the argument that Blanco said it but claim that another Governor said it so... Victory?

C'mon man.

No one said anything about Nagin. You're inventing arguments to a conversation that hasn't occurred. Try to keep up.

Wasn't he a candy maker or something of the sort, I seem to recall something about making New Orleans a chocolate city.👍🏿

Blanco didn't say it. Wouldn't say yes or no even after being asked twice.

You are being a child right now with your trollish attempts to continue this argument even after you've been proven wrong at every turn. In fact, Bush did visit on 2 September, less than four days after the storm:

Reporter's notebook: George W. Bush and the week Hurricane Katrina hit - CBS News

This is the part where you should know the proper time to STFU.
