People don’t have to act like idiots, but the alternative to a rabid fan base that spends a lot of money is an apathetic one that does not. Which would the AD prefer? It's amazing just how stupid people can be, isn't it?
We have every right to be pissed. I think many of us are speaking with our wallets, too.
You can challenge the coach without also sounding like some idiot hillbillySo..... the true blue Vol fans are embarrassed by the fans who hold our coach's feet to the fire?
Oh, my stahhhrs and Vaaahpaahs. Bring me a tonic, quickly. I feel faint.
Get a grip. Phillip from Wartburg is hardly alone, and I'll bet he would put any person on this board to shame for loyalty.
If JP can't handle a comment like that, he DOES need to go back to Gumpland. His response was pure circa 2003 Fulmerspeak.
People like Phillip are losers thats why he is a armchair QB
As a taxpayer in the State, an alum, and very low-level donor (like many here I assume) I cannot understand people who diminish our contribution. No, there is no building on campus with my name on it, but I assume anyone that makes that point is a sidewalk fan, who never spent a day in a classroom on the Hill. There would be no program to follow without the hundreds of thousands like us, and the millions that came before. We speak up precisely because we have a vested interest.
I’m all for exploring other options and critiquing job performance, but being flat out disrespectful to a guy trying to take questions on air like that is a dipsh*t move

That's your choice. Make a different one. All of you talk about spending boosters' money like it's nothing.Every team has embarrassing fans, but you need to know wth you’re talking about. Fan gear, ticket sales, food, beer, parking etc. are all “donations” to the university from the fans that pay to see a competent product on the field.
Has nothing to do with his accent

Thank goodness, the beleaguered Millionaire Vol Fan demographic has a advocate. Otherwise, life is tough for those who can make a 3-4 milly donation to the AD for better skyboxes without skipping a beat.
I'm glad you're in their corner.
it’s something someone who hasn’t gotten past 6th grade would say to another personOK. Other than having a southern accent, how did he sound like a "hillbilly"?
He asked a sarcastic, smart-$%% question. That's aggressive, but it isn't "hillbilly". If his sentence structure bothers you, then the average JP statement must dun, uuuhhhh, drive you, uuuhhhhh, gud and nuts, aight?
I'm sorry. Where was the "succeeding" part? This football team hasn’t succeeded in anything other than losing in over a decade.I'm embarrassed to have a fan like Phillip. He exposes the caliber of a segment of the fanbase that will not allow Tennessee to succeed, empowered by the media to express his low level sentiments and your approval of it.
