I would to do some different things with the jerseys in a rivalry game or something. Like maybe bring out black jerseys against Florida every year or something to that nature.

And Florida ate their lunch. They wore the black jerseys against Bama a couple of years ago and got slaughtered. It is not the jerseys, but the coaches that teach blocking and tackling that makes a difference.

I didn't say anything about uniforms winning games and Tennessee has never wore black jerseys against Alabama.

I bet we did wear them against Bama pre-1922 when we started wearing them. I know that we played Bama in 1912 and 1913.

You may be right. I'm just saying I liked the black jerseys and would like to see them again. You know the players liked them.

Yes, I know that the players like them. But I am a traditionalist and Tennessee is a tradition program. I do not like gimmicks and black jerseys are a gimmick. It is too much like Notre Dame wearing green jerseys and everyone else being part of the copycat syndrome.

The older heads on this board will say it doesn't matter but it really does. Adidas new cleats look a lot like the Vapors. I think it was a smart move by Adidas to do that. They also realized they had to make lighter gear.

I'm not old and it means jack ****. We've worn Adidas as long as I can remember and we've never had a problem with recruiting. I'm going to put 0% fault on Adidas for our troubles in '06 and '08.

Basketball might be different, IDK tho.

Helmets are really cool. I like that graphite look a lot.

Where in heck did all this black stuff come from, anyway? UT's colors are Orange and White. Look back at footage from the '70s and '80s, before they started sticking black in it; that was the true way. I don't even like the idea of the black seats in the arena, even if it's cool-looking.

Get rid of the black, at least in the uniforms. And the turqoise in the Lady Vols stuff, too. That's even worse. :shakehead:

I agree. There are some things that you just don't mess with (unless you're willing to be prostituted by the Nike sales dept. like the Ducks), and the "Orange and White" is one of those...:no:
