im sure it has been mentioned a million times, but the home tech fit jerseys are absolutely hideous. i hpe they trash them in the off season.

I like the new tech fit jerseys. The I only thing I would like to see, is them making the Jerseys just a little darker orange like the basketball jerseys. When the jerseys reflect light, it can make the jerseys look like a yellowish orange and doesn't show the true Tennessee orange.

Adidas will do anything UT asks them as far as uni's go. Unless you are one of Nike's top 10, you more than likegly take what they give you. I like the new adidas uni's and besides maybe a better font for the names and numbers I hope they don't change.

I suppose that I'm just thinking that it is just football jerseys. Not exactly a matter of national importance.

The Adidas sponsorship is more than just football jerseys. They donate/give the University a ton of money. More than Nike donates to any school they sponsor, other than maybe Oregon.

The reason Tennessee is sticking with Adidas is 1) Because of the money 2) They are willing to support all the sports 3) We are one of Adidas biggest schools & we get ALOT ALOT of stuff from Adidas. I like Nike & I'd prefer that over Adidas any day of the week but Adidas has really started to step up their program with Football & Basketball.

Also, I'm a big traditionalist. I LOVE the way our jerseys look right now. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes our jerseys look a yellowish-orange, Dooley has met with Adidas to straighten that out. I mean I'm 22 & alot of people my age want to wear black or get crazy designs on the jerseys ect... not me. I think we have some of the best uniforms in America. I really like that Dooley wore the Orange pants on the road this year, I don't mind seeing the white pants on the road from time to time but the Orange pants just stick out when your watching the game. I also like how Adidas added the orange collar on the away jerseys, it looks great.

Hubbs has said that Dooley wont touch the jerseys, he is big on tradition & I'm very glad about that.

I didn't think the tech fit jerseys were that bad but seeing them up close they look awful compared to the jerseys we wore earlier in the year.

Why do we need one?

I'm ok with tweaks but there's absolutely no need for any radical redesigning. You want to have a look that when people see it, they know who you are. That's why the best teams don't change. You don't see Alabama, LSU, Ohio St., Texas, Oklahoma, traditional powers ever changing their look very much. Oregon is the only team I can think that has radically changed their look over the years and is successful, and even they have kind of had the same basic look for a while now (just a LOT of color combos).

Conversely many universities go through uniforms like underwear and most of them are also-rans. To me radically changing your look in the majority of the time is some lame attempt to garner interest and usually long term has little effect because the product still sucks or isn't consistent.

I'm not saying that I support a change, just that I don't see the harm. And, it's just a football uniform. That's all.

If we ever made changes, I would love to see some stripes on the shoulder pad area. I think that's a great look:

NOT trying to look like anybody else, but I think two white stripes could be a good look if we ever made a change.

Also, I dont love the new techfit...looks cheap for some reason.

Maybe its the diff between mens and womens. I dont know a single dude who doesnt have to buy a size or two up in Nike shoes. As far as my opinion, and most of us at the gym, seem to be liking Adidas more and more.

This^^^!

With one exception and addition!

Exception- I like the brighter orange, I think it looks the best and has changed somewhat over time to be the color of UT. Looks much better than anybody elses orange!

Addition- Adidas is making the best looking fan clothing, way better than Nike stuff I see for other teams. The new designs on the Scorch stuff and T's is awesome. And the three stripe design on some of the sweatshirts is cool too!

I had and older vol fan school me on this recently.
Lots of people didnt know that, black was a part of our tradition on a smaller yet significant scale. Thats one reason I would like to do some "one off" here and there with black. But of course never go away from our orange and white!

One more thing, our football practice jerseys, with the three stripes on the side under the arm, need to be our game jerseys!

Also have you seen the new Adidas warm up shirts the b-ball players wear on the bench, that is what our b-ball jerseys need to look like!

They are not darker, sometimes on certain channels like FSS they look darker. When you see em on Espn they look bright, which is the color they really are. Just look on UTsports and see the pics of b-ball, they are every bit as bright! :hi:
