Those shoes are so ugly, so the players wanted white shoes and get to keep them, but the players also wanted black uniforms and we tell them they have no say??? Funny.

That's your opinion, I happen to think they're pretty sharp. Which model did you find ugly? Because the team wore 5 different models of cleat throughout the year.

To compare the cleats and black jerseys is not accurate. A jersey is part of a team's identity, the first thing that a viewer sees when he turns on the TV broadcast. Every college football fan can tell you the jersey color of just about every Division 1 team, but few, if any, could tell you what color shoes they wear. The shoes don't matter at all.

It's not the model its the color, especially on the white guys, it looks terrible. As for the cleats vs jersey, that's not the point I was making at all. Cleats are part of the uniform just as the jersey is, I don't believe the players have a say in the cleats or jerseys or any other part of the uniform.

If Adidas really is throwing multiple uniform designs UTs way and we are shunning them, maybe we need someone with an understanding of color coordination making the decisions. Hopefully it isn't Dooley. derp.

the adiZeros are ok but the high tops the linemen wear are hideous. as ive stated before, if the players love them, that is good enough for me.

If they could just get the colors right on the away techfit jerseys then i think they would be awesome. The home orange jerseys look perfect.

Those cleats were great..I like them much better than the plain dull black ones, black is not one of our school colors, I was cool with the black jerseys because it was halloween and they fit...Not every week though, and the black cleats were every week.

Black isn't what?

How come we wear orange at home for football and white at home for basketball?

Because that what the rules of each sport require.

In football, the home team is required to wear a dark jersey, with the visiting team wearing white. Teams can request the opposite or both can wear dark if they contrast and both teams agree.

In basketball, the home team is required to wear a white or light uniform with the visitor in dark. Again, the teams can both agree to wear dark, as UT did when we had the "Orange Out" in the OUTlive game a couple of years ago.

Well, then you believe incorrectly. The players requested white cleats for this season and Dooley agreed. And, again, that's your opinion, I think the white cleats look great. 30 of the 32 NFL teams also wear white cleats, so it's not like we're the lone white cleat team.

Dooley and the AD have final say on uniform selections and we have elected to remain traditional. I don't know how an understanding of color coordination comes in to play on that one?

Bring back the orange turf shoes we wore in the '86 Bama game!

Didn't UT donate those to Russia?

I just don't want you to pour time into something that's going to be discarded. UT gets hundreds of logo and uniform submissions from fans every year, and most of them are not even looked at. Many of them are very professional looking, but we have a contract with a company that does their own design work.

If you want to waste your time, go ahead, but I'm telling you that I know the people that will open the envelope, and that's as far as the designs will get.
So, you know all of this just how?

I'm aware that it's not typical protocol. That's why I've gone to such lengths, and again, it's the kind of work I do. So, from my vantage point, even if it gets shot down, it's no different than sending an Ad agency, animation studio, etc. a demo reel/portfolio asking to be considered for placement on their outsourcing list. Chances are often slim that you'll get a call. But it's no different than fishing or job hunting. You have to try. If you sit and listen to people who got turned down by the same companies you're applying to, you'll go hungry.

Taking some Joe fan's opinion, that thinks he's high up the food chain, rather than trying is a worse option, in my opinion. But thanks for attempting to speak for the decision makers, themselves.

OK, good luck to you. Let me know how that turns out.

No offense, but if you read through all of Deerpark's posts and think he's just some Joe fan, you're not the brightest crayon in the box.

This post is an example of one of the reasons the Football Forum has a reputation for being ....well you know.

I know there are some who are "connected" and some who pretend to be. 1900 posts and acting as an authority doesn't sell me. Sorry.
