Volinbham Talks Marketing and Bud Light

Looks like the “frat guys” done found them a different beer to drink.
Biker's are frat guys? Tell me you know little about blue collar people from coast to coast, without telling me you know little about blue collar people coast to coast.

I think it went waaaaaaaaaaay over your head
It really did.

Attention VN: The crazy lady that decided to bury Bud Light stated the brand needed to update their “fratty and out of touch image”. Thus, when I posted that it looked like the “frat guys” done found them a new drink, I was being sarcastic.

Ok gotcha.....yup that did wiz by....I just had never heard anyone compare bikers to frat guys....very different demographics.

In my defense I never listened to crazy lady to know she said that. :D

All good.

What’s sad is how little she knew about Bud Light customers. I used to work for an AB distributor. Bud Light is similar to Coca-Cola, in that their target market is anyone that can breathe! (And is of drinking age of course). Go to a lake in the south and you will see multi-millionaires on bad a** boats and guys barely making it out there wetting a line on a Jon boat, all drinking cold Bud Light. You don’t take risk with a product like Bud Light! Keep it basic and enjoy the revenue.

and how hard is it to not offend your consumer base? Apparently pretty difficult nowadays, since companies seem incapable of just selling a product and not imparting some message 😂 but they are actually teaching that in business school now, that you are supposed to do that… (“CSR/Social responsibility)”…I think it’s stupid though, nobody enjoys being lectured to

I do think Hog is correct though. They could wait this out (though it doesn't appear to be letting up) and hope they bounce back. Or they rebrand in an attempt to salvage what they can.
