Winning is a habit. Unfortunately so is losing.
― Vince Lombardi
Look at 2008 NIT winner Ohio State who was ranked in the preseason 2009 polls. With everyone coming back but Tatum, we will be ranked in top 25 next year if we can prove we can win on the road.
So would you rather play in the NIT and take a chance on losing to someone like Youngstown St. or get in the NCAA and HAVE the chance to beat a 4 or 5 seed team in round 1? Seriously, this is a no brainer Willie. I know your fast but I'm sorried about your thought process ...
Absurd argument. Better question for VL is would he rather win Canadian League championship or not make NFL playoffs. I believe VL would take winning anytime.
Ok then. Look at Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox Once the Red Sox broke through, they've been pretty good.
I was a two sport athlete in college and won a lot in one and lost several in the other. I slept a whole lot better after I won even though the sport was not followed as much by the fan base.
Anybody that would take an NIT bid over a NCAA tourney bid does not follow college basketball very much. Actually, based on your post, they would be better suited for an NCAA bid since these are "neutral site" games vs. road games. NIT first and second round games could be true road games on the opposing teams court.
We play poorly away from home period, regardless of whether it was neutral or away, check the schedule this year.
We're also most likely to end up a 2-3 (or 1) seed in the NIT. So no, the team would likely be playing at home until madison square garden (presuming wins).
